Had on tap at the downtown Brewery
On arrival a one finer fine head was present that over a couple minutes dissipates to some lacing and a thin covering. The body is a traditional hazy gold.
The aroma is wheaty, with a traditional banana esters coming from the yeast not the most spicy, but this is named after bananas. Some vanilla aroma is present.
The taste is again banana forward coming from the yeast and the malty sweetness pushes that along making it almost like liquid banana bread, but I don't think any fruit was used to make this. Very nice and pretty creative or just plain lucky.
The feel is very carbonated and a bit dry. Not bad by any means I just want a bit more mouthfeel from my hefes. The finish on this is still pretty long and malty, the attenuation is just super high.
Overall, for craft German style hefeweizens, this is a winner. It's not just trying to be a German hefe, but rather goes after the banana notes. I honestly want to know how they get this character consistently from their yeast.

Can
L-ever so slightly cloudy yellow. 1f white head, lots of visible effervescence
S-pleasant and fruit, including banana. Not much grains
T-actually more flavor than I associate with this style, and follows the nose with banana and maybe a little biscuit flavor
F-not quite as crisp as others in the style
O-honestly, I don’t drink a lot in this style but it was more enjoyable than most. It ends up being kind of one-note, but so do most in this style.

Pours a chill hazed & effervescent honey color with 2 fingers of cream colored head. Minimal head retention & lacing
S: Green banana & cloves
T: Lots of banana, a little breadyness & clove up front. More banana & breadyness as this warms, some dryness as well, even a little vanilla. With bananas, a little mineral dryness, a little grassyness & pear
MF: Medium body, moderate carbonation
Lovely take on the style, so easy to drink
