Appearance: Arrives clear and amber colored with a one finger head that leaves a few strands of lace

Smell; Caramel and pine, with earthy resinous tones

Taste: Caramel forward with earth and pine tones developing; the resinous flavors build, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation

Overall: Balanced and resinous but not something I would return to

22 oz Bomber poured into a room temp tulip glass.

A: Amber to apricot coloring that is opaque under light. Mixture of small and medium bubbles that form a nice 1 and a half finger head. Foam dissipates after about a minute leaving a sticky white to off white lacing.

S: What smell? I do not find the nose attractive or anywhere close to the level of many AIPA's. Some sugary carmel malt can be smelled with a slight pine/hay that lingers. No grapefuit/citrus... this is much more woodsy.

T: Altogether good, but not what I was expecting. Malty. I would dare say that this is a sweet beer. Straw and pine can be tasted if one looks hard enough. Some alcohol finish as is to be expected but it did not seem to make me drink any slower or less. It is refreshing.

F: As expected. Medium.

O: This is a delightful beer to drink. I don't figure a 7.3 ABV is a beer you would have too many of... but it is one that is not too filling or abusive to the palate if one wanted to make a (rather extra-drunk) sessionable out of this experience. I have had Wiseacre products before and have enjoyed thier brews, this one may not be thier best.,.. but it is by no means bad.

Poured into a tulip. A moderately hazy light amber color. A vigorous pour produced only a one-finger head that receeded to a foamy cap. Pine, straw, and grass on the nose, with a fair amount of caramel malt. Also some toffee. Bitter and earthy on the first sip. Lots of pine and not much citrus. The grassiness expected in a wet-hop IPA was there and was enjoyable. As with the aroma, the malty taste was prominent, with caramel and toffee, which seemed odd and out of place. A bit warming on the finish but not too dry.

Pours an effervescent gold with 2+ fingers of cream colored head. Pretty good lacing & head retention

S: Tangerine & orange peel & woody notes

T: A little peach, then grassyness & pomelo & mango up front. Mango, grassyness, oranges & dryness as this warms. Finishes with grapefruit peel, dryness & a little pine

MF: Medium body, slight carbonation, good balance

Drinkable, tasty, not a world-beater by any means...
