Had Rockets In The Complex poured from 22-oz. bomber into faceted mug. Although I am not a fan of brown ales, this beer is the latest datum confirming I am a fan of imperial browns, or at least those like Rockets in the Complex, with the requisite malt (and added cocoa) sweetness, but also a balancing bite from hops and higher ABV.

Pours an effervescent and slightly ever so hazed brown/hazel with a thumb of tan head. Average head retention & lacing
S: Toastyness, nuttyness, brown bread
T: Follows the nose, cocoa as well, dryness as well up front, a little mocha as well. Toastyness, dryness, a touch of vanilla, cocoa & hazelnut as this warms. Finishes dry & nutty, some woody hops too
MF: Medium body, slight carbonation
Solid Brown, well worth a try

Poured from bomber into snifter glass. 7.4 ABV Murky brown ale with a thin khaki head that quickly dissipates. Aroma of tootsie rolls that leads into same chocolate flavor on the palate. A little sweetness and nuttiness that keeps you coming back for another sip. Slightly thin but then again this is a brown ale. Recommended for a nice slightly sweet treat.
