Had Prank Calls to Satan poured from 12-oz. can, possibly an illegible date stamped on bottom, gift from friend, into Teku tulip 3.0.
Pours deep ruby-brown, almost black until backlit, with 2-fingers of light-tan, oatmeal-stout like head, which dissipates to a persistent film, and pulls a little nice sketchy lace down the glass. West Coast aromas of grassy and piney hops and fruit off the pour, then nice caramel malt aroma as warms. On tasting, crisp carbonation boosts nice caramel malt to start this light-bodied beer, with a little fruit then evidenced, before mild roasted malts join, leading into a crisp, moderately bitter finish.
As one would hope from that name, this is a very interesting beer. A dark ale for summer.

It poured a dark cola color with some red hue to it. A nice foamy head that left nice lacing at the top of the glass. The taste is citrus hop bite, not overpower but very much present. The feel is medium with visible carbonation on side of glass. Overall pleasant and nice to drink.

First I have to say this beer is definitely still available.
I sampled this beer at home and purchased a six pack (cans) at local grocer. The beer poured with large head. Color was slightly cloudy and about the color of maple syrup. It was very overcast (I was on patio) but I think there was a hint of red. Not much of a smell. Very light; tones of citrus. The feel was malty but did not seem to last, as if it evaporated off my tongue. Not unpleasant but not great. Overall the taste was gentle and warming and the citrus was evident. It's good beer and I'm sure I will order more.

Poured into a snifter. A clear dark brown color with a ruby hue in the glass. A thick and rocky tank head formed with a vigorous pour. Great lacing. Citrus hops on the nose with faint notes of roasted grain and coffee. The taste was more roasty, with coffee, some char, and some dark chocolate flavors. They were met with a formidable array of bitter citrus notes - grapefruit and orange pith. The finish was nice and dry and the feel was medium and clean. Overall very enjoyable.

Clear but very dark amber gold color with large tan cap and lacing.
Aroma of very lightly roasted malt and dark chocolate with a toffee center.
Taste on entry emphasizes the roast element of the malt Te by a very firm hoppiness. Not too bitter, more like dark European style chocolate, but firm nonetheless. The different flavors are simple but well matched.
Medium texture with balancing carbonation.
Don't know quite what to make of this one. It sorta reminds me of the Heineken Dark of about 30 years ago but the hops here are firmer and heavier. A diminished version of Guinness perhaps with a little less of everything but 50% more ABV.
