At the dawn of Pangea and off the coast of the coast of an Archipelago that included Madagascar, New Zealand, and the Faroe Islands when reached by a ferry through a mystical portal to the center of earth you’d wind up in the upside down where Puffins, Pengwolfs and Porcas dominated air, land and sea. The temperature was always tropical winter with long sunny days and pillowy clouds of floof. Puffel hearkens this yesteryear of a supercontinent long forgotten with its cloudy cover, New Zealand bred Nelson Sauvin hops which bring cool climate white wine grape flavors, extreme fruitiness, passionfruit, and fresh crushed gooseberries. But beware! Hungry like the Pengwolf...it packs a deceptively potent punch.

Had Puffel poured from pint can, no date, gift delivered from brewery by my favorite daughter, into nonic pint.

Pours cloudy, medium gold with creamy, 2-finger off-white head, with excellent retention, leaving some sketchy rings of lace down the glass. Hop resin and berry aromas off pour, joined by herbal and sweet citrus aromas, and as warms some malt, lime, tart stone fruit, floral and pineapple aromas, with continuing berries. On drinking, begins with big sweet citrus, then some resinous bite, with more than a little pine, leading over a moderately malty body, into a crisp, piney, herbally-bitter, and eventually (a bit) alcohol-warming finish.

White wine grape and citrus dominate the aroma joined by nice malt and pine in the tasting of this modern mid-American DIPA.

Look - murky orange golden color, good white head. good lacing left throughout this review.
Smell - first scent was a little white wine, fruity, floral, berries
Taste - sweet fruit, citrus, white wine grape flavor, herbal and caramel as it warms
Feel - medium body and carbonation, sweet hoppy dry finish
Overall - this is a good brew but the white wine flavor seemed to resonate most. Coming in at 9% it has a lot of hops to enhance the feel and taste though. If you like white wine then you will like it. I paired this brew with Unnatural Act by L.A. Guns.

Not a bad pour from a pint can into a clear glass Imperial pint mug. It fits easily, as there's almost no head to be found. There is an earthy aroma that usually is found in some IPAs, but not other styles. It's a dark and somewhat cloudy apricot-amber. At the front of the taste, there's a pleasant citrus hit. Then it becomes sweeter, but not too much so. Next comes the transition to earthiness, but it's surprisingly dry at the finish. There's no glass lacing and although it's not as apparent to the tongue, there is an alcohol burn in the gullet. But, like the brew itself, it's not bad at all.

Grabbed this single from a TN gas station on the way back from NJ to TX just to try something different. Creamy-looking hazy ipa. While there are tropical notes, anything flavorful is knocked out by mineral notes harshness. Feels pretty creamy otherwise.

19.2 oz (!] can with 9% ABV from TN. Undated although there is a smudged black ink stamp on the bottom of the can.

Appearance. Hazy, orange-amber colored body with a good white head.

This has a fine fruity aroma but the flavor is comparatively disappointing. The unharmonious hop component seems to be the source of my disappointment.
