Long ago, cool winter’s eve we first basked,in starlight of rich amber malt. And so we were thus tasked, to quicken our recipe vault. Strizzle’s flavor inspires, sticky hops and hot buns. Warm hands close to the fires, wintry mix fun. Striezelmarkt brings title to our beer, the original holiday shop. From 1434 in Dresden year, a bright piney aroma will pop. Set adrift on memory bliss, pfefferkuchen, nussknackers, and this. Lavish IPA brings forth jubilation, hoppy time, fizzy pop, refreshment elation.

12 oz can from the Wall of Beer in Clemson SC ($1.99).

This is an odd looking IPA, with a dark brown body looking like a Belgian Dark Ale. Of course this is intentional, as the can's label seems to confirm by proclaiming this to be "The Visual Dissonance Edition". As the dark appearance suggests, the flavor is more malt forward than the average American IPA and carries notes of toffee and dark roasted grains. Excellent balance with appreciable complexity.

Brown in color with excellent clarity. There’s a fingernail of brown on top. Moderate, soapy lacing. There‘a an aroma of pine and dark malt. I’m tasting pine and dark bready malt. The mouth is sticky and dry.

Pours an effervescent copper with 2 fingers of sand colored head. Nice lacing & above average head retention

S: Cakey, piney, fades a bit as this warms

T: Follows the nose, dry with woody hops & a little caramel up front. More pine & dryness as this beer warms, a touch of cakeyness & caramel, plus more woodyness. Finishes piney with caramel & brown bread

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, alright balance. Carbonation picks up as this beer warms up

Drinks fairly easy, makes me think; Little Brother to SN Celebration

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation

12oz can. Poured out a very dark amber color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of pine, resin, roasted malt and caramel. Very malty tasting iPA with resin and piney bitterness. Mild citrus taste.

Dark red with very light head on an aggressive pour, I could barely pick up anything on the nose. The taste has a slight floral bitterness, but that's about it. The body is full and has the right amount of carbonation. Easily quaffable, but not really an interesting pour that reaches out and says buy me again...

Poured from a can, nice one finger head with lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and citrus. Medium to light body with balanced malt and hops. Finishes pleasantly bitter. Nice approachable winter seasonal.

Had on tap at the HQ brewery.

On arrival a 1 finger off white head was present on a clear, brown amber body. The head dissipates over a few minutes to a ring around the glass that leaves some lacing.

Aroma is a sweet candy citrus woth fruity American hops being boosted by a sweet caramel malt. Clean otherwise.

Taste follows the aroma but is much bigger. It sessentially a west coast ipa crossed woth a brown ale, American or British the ipa hops negate any difference between the two. Malty and hoppy but big hoppy.

Feel is a big relaxing armchair IPA. This is what sierra Nevada wishes their celebratio. IPA was.libg finish with some slight dryness and a medium high carbonation.

Overall this is a damn goodalty IPA sweet and hoppy woth the bitterness without being to strong or cloying. For an IPA out of Tennessee this is nice. I especially like that they wanted a malty IPA but didn't just reach for a Black IPA.
