It took us 10 years to make a beer that doesn't have a title. We wanted to brew something truly unique for this special time. Traditionally, aluminum or tin gifts are passed for this anniversary, but since we routinely deal in one of these metals, we felt something else was in order. This beer has been in the works for 1/5 of the time we have been open, and we are excited to share it with you guys. We made the most monstrous portuguese barleywine we could make. 18.8 ABV and completely without bubbles. We treated it like a port with extensive ageing, searching for elusive sweet raisins and rivers of toffee. Stashed away in port pipes and 100% malt whiskey barrels for the last two years in our hot summers, liquid is driven into the staves of the barrels and then slowly seeps back into the barrels in the cooler months. This decadent beer is far and away the richest thing we have ever produced.
