Mainly a saison peppery and all the layers you would expect. Light on the pumpkin but it's there, great, crisp beer.
Taste rating in words: It's the first bite of food, after a day of not eating.

Picked up in a pumpkin pack from a local beer store. Over the years, I've become less enthusiastic about pumpkin beers. The spice is often overdone and the beer is overly sweet. This one, however, is a nice correction to that trend. It is a light golden amber color with a medium white head. The aroma is of pumpkin spice and wheat. The Taste is balanced, and the flavor is not overdone. Flavorful pumpkin pie finish. Nice.

L: Pours a pumpkin gold, quick head
S: Not much pumpkin or spice in the smell. Kind of a let down.
T: All the spice, mellow pumpkin fruit, malt. Clean and bright for a pumpkin.
F: A bit light and watery, personal preference is a bit richer feel for a pumpkin.
O: Despite a few shortcomings, overall drinkability makes it quite an enjoyable beer. Room for improvement, but alright as it is.

Copper colored and cloudy. There's a fingernail of off white one top. The aroma is of pumpkin pie spice earthy saison yeast. I'm tasting the pumpkin pie spice and it seems to dominate the flavor. The mouth is moderately carbonated.

Poured into a snifter.
3.25 A: Murky orange brown color. Just about one finger of frothy white head that falls quickly and leaves just a couple wisps of lacing.
4.25 S: This is simply wonderful. The balance between the pumpkin and the base saison is just about perfect. Plump pumpkin with cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, and clove spiciness. The base gives forth hay, wildflowers, lemon, and peach fruits.
4.5 T: The taste is even better and more well integrated. Again big pumpkin with the spices mentioned above. Crisp with peppery yeast, clean grainy malts, hay, fruits as above, and some herbalness.
4.5 M: Lighter medium body. Good spritzy moderate carbonation. Active on the tongue and super smooth.
4.75 D: I love O'Fallon these days. Pumpkin beers are wonderful and these guys seem to have specified in them. Pumpkin and saison blend perfectly together. I wish others would follow suit.
