July 3rd, 2015 - Brewery on Broadway really impressed me with their stout, and the ESB follows in suit. Light and slight on the nose, it has a fine clear and golden color with plenty of visibility to take in the other side of the bar. As an ESB it is robust, with some muscles to flex, but importantly, finesse in balance. There's a slight sweetness in there too with a dusting of Bazooka Joe bubble gum, but nothing off-putting. Just supplementary. Another winner from an under appreciated brewery.

I was here right after they first opened up. The beer has improved tremendously but this was not a shinning example of that. The color is good and the head is ok. Aroma is underwhelming, and the taste is shifted to the bitter side with minimal malt backbone. Mouthfeel is ok.
Overall a drinkable beer. I would not order it again though.

one of the better beers happening at the new bob. its a sweeter esb, with plenty of vanilla in the nose and finish. hazy light rust color, with an inch or so of well lasting white head. English malts abound in this one, caramel sweetness and a nutty aroma too. the flavor matches up with the smell pretty solidly, an almost pecan flavor to the malt in this before French vanilla notes come out, a nice flavor profile for the fall. my critique of this one is that it lacks the punchy carbonation a beer like this needs to stay drinkable, and as such, is a bit filling. a few pints is enough for me. still, I enjoyed this one very much, and will be back for it again before long. id like to see more American esbs around this time of year, and this one fills a nice niche in that regard. mellow and flavorful.
