The juicy intensity of blackberry and sweet tangy boysenberry pair perfectly with the classic Jam Up hop blend of Vic Secret, Mosaic, and Citra, resulting in a juicy, sour, and extremely refreshing brew.

dry hopped sour.
A: Bright cherry pour produces a hot pink head one inch tall with a soapy and spongey texture. Dense deep raspberry coloring in the vessel with a quick rush of effervesce. Pretty and unique coloring.
S: A big burst of juicy boysenberry and blackberry right from the start, wet and fresh with a sweet wine like flair. Very good strength, pleasant with some background of watermelon and pear.
T: Fruity flavor follows the nose, full of boysenberry and blackberries, lightly tart and acidic with a quick bite and a soft dry fruity hop flower fade. Cantaloupe and melon is followed by some creamy tart apples. Very smooth flavor.
M: Great malt backing here, very soft feel and lush and creamy texture has a smooth and gentle tingle of carbonation.
O: A very smooth and eloquently brewed sour, the mouthful and extreme smooth character being the outstanding points here. A fresh burst of berry fruitiness, very refined flavor and body, reminds me of an Ommegang where you know they just have perfected the trade to a science. Outstanding drinkability.

16oz. can into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
Great color. Very little lace and very thin legs though. Nose is fresh cut grass, blackberry seediness, and pine. Aromatic, juicy, and with a hoppy bite. Beer opens pine, an aggressive hop bite, and grass. Blackberry is apparent on the palate with a juicy tartness. Seedy towards the end and finishes Sprite lemon-lime with a fresh hop bitterness. Very little aftertaste. Nice. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and aggressive on the palate and goes down sparkling with a lot of bubbles. Dry finish with a bone dry aftertaste. Fantastic.
The dry-hopping is very apparent in the flavor profile in this one. A real nice beer.

A dry-hopped sour is a first for me so I was interested to try. It pours beet red with a pink head that dissipates quickly. Hops are at the forefront of the smell, so much so that you might think you were smelling an IPA. The fruit notes on the nose suggest sweet jam and not fresh fruit, so good job on the name. The taste, much like the smell, is split into two parts. On one hand, you have mildly sour blueberry and boysenberry. This is not a knock-in-the-park, but it's certainly enjoyable. On the other hand, you have bright fresh hops that, for me, are the highlight of this beer. I wish most IPAs had hops like these. However, the two sides work against each other. When I want to enjoy either the fruitiness or the hops, I find the other getting in the way. This is the risk for hybrid beers: some flavors meld nicely together, others will be at odds even if they are good individually.
