This POG Sour is guava forward on the nose, packed with tropical flavour from all the fresh fruit. Adding in the fruit unfermented creates a real fruity punch in the final product. This brew is golden in colour with a light orange hue, slightly tart, with a sweet finish. Perfect for backyard sipping or when you need to transport yourself to a beach!

Appearance: Pours a somewhat cloudy golden color (a pinkish tone developed toward the end of the can) with a one finger head with plenty of bubbles; decent retention and a splattering of lace
Smell: Guava and passionfruit complement the base orange tones
Taste: Orange and passionfruit forward, with a tart yogurt character; after the swallow, the sweetness of the guava creeps in though the finish has a lingering tart element
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A very nice kettle sour; I am partial to guava and the use of that fruit here is quite deft

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Jul 5 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours a muddied yellow colour with visible flecks of sediment scattered throughout; the liquid shines with a pinkish hue if held to a bright light. Half a finger of tight white suds dissipates almost immediately, leaving behind a dense collar and little else of interest; there's some lace deposition later on as the level drops. Big, authentic notes of guava on the nose, but the passionfruit's no slouch either; I'm also getting hints of orange pulp, lactic acidity and raspberry yogurt.
This one blurs the line between beer and fruit juice - it's just non-stop juicy tropical fruit flavours from start to finish. Orange and passionfruit on the front end, supported by hints of bready wheat and lemon yogurt; the guava asserts itself thereafter, dominating the tail end of the sip. The aftertaste is very juicy, moderately sweet, and not particularly sour. Medium-full in body, with very low carbonation that barely registers on the surface of the tongue; feels slick, smooth, juicy and a little fluffy (like unfiltered juice). Good drinkability, but one per night is plenty.
Final Grade: 4.05, an A-. As a beer geek with no particular affinity for kettle sours or fruit beers, I need to carefully consider how I review beers like POG Fresh Fruit Sour: i.e. beers that are clearly quite well-made, but not at all what I want to drink on a daily (or even weekly) basis. Basically, I want to judge it fairly by thinking about how well the brewers have accomplished what they were trying to do, rather than how much the beer appeals to me specifically. By that metric, Collective Arts has done its usual excellent job, as I think this POG sour beats out the majority of the others I've tried in recent years. I'd pick this up again if I were in the mood for guava.

473ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase for $4 or so. Canned July 5, 2022.
Appearance - Super turbid, salmon / peach colored brew with lots of sediment. A finger plus of light tan head. Nice sparkly lacing.
Smell - Passionfruit and guava for sure. A little sweet and quite fruity. Orange in the background. One of the best noses on a sour I've had all year.
Taste - Passionfruit and orange initially, guava rounding things out. Wheat in the backbone. Semi-sour but balanced with sweetness. Kind of sour fruit smoothie in flavor.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied, creamy, with little pockets of carbonation. Very drinkable.
Overall - Not going to lie, this is probably the best or at least in the top three Kettle fruited sours I've had. Lots of balance, full and flavorful, smoothie-esque and a little sweeter than most of the sour brews, makes this appeal greatly to me.
