473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Sep 27 2023 and served slightly chilled.
Pours so turbid and cloudy that it's practically opaque, with small clumps of sediment scattered about its pinkish-rose coloured body. Two inches of soapy, foamy pink-tinged head erupts at the surface, but lasts little more than a couple of minutes; a sudsy collar is the only remnant of note. Looks great. I would not describe the aroma as intense, but rather nuanced - the blood orange is well-represented, with hints of cranberry, raspberry, vanilla and lemony lactic sourness.
Wow, that first sip had some real POP to it! That's right, this beer is capitalized-onomatopoeia worthy. Starts off unassuming - blood orange takes the lead early, tart & acidic with a touch of sweet citrus juiciness. Vanilla shows up mid-sip, with tart raspberry, lactic acidity and cranberry juice dominating the back end. The acidic sourness/sharpness peaks as the aftertaste begins - reminds me of sour key candies, with telltale cranberry astringency lasting well beyond that. Medium in body, with average carbonation that lends some bite to this brew's smooth, juicy mouthfeel. This is one of the most crushable fruit sours I've had in quite some time.
Final Grade: 4.26, an excellent A-. Blood Orange & Cranberry with Vanilla is a fantastic beer that I would buy again in a heartbeat. I have reviewed so many fruity sours over the past half-decade that I am honestly kind of sick of them. I still keep trying 'em though, partially because ticking is a compulsion, but also because every once in a while, one will really impress the hell out of me. Collective Arts is one of the best, so I can't say this is a total shocker, but I love it when a beer surprises me like this. Highly recommended.

Appearance: Pours the color of pink grapefruit juice and is capped by two fingers of mauve foam; good retention and splashy lacing
Smell: Cranberry/orange tones with a lean toward the sour aspect that the blood orange brings
Taste: Tart orange forward with the cranberry complementing; moderately sour with a hint of vanilla in the finish that offsets
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: The blood orange and cranberry provide a nice combination and the hint of vanilla is an inspiration
