473ml can served cold into a beer mug. Brewerty purchase. Canned November 28, 2023.

Appearance - Semi hazy, bright golden color with yellow highlights. A finger and a half of dense foamy head rests on top and lingers a while.

Smell - Big fruity notes with some berry notes, pineapple and orange.

Taste - Lower bitterness with a juicy does of citrus with the berry theme continuing on the second half of the sip. Orange and again pineapple are the prominent citrus flavors.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied and light on it's toes with expressive carbonation and a fairly juicy finish.

Overall - This is the Collective Arts I had come to love, with SIngular Form providing some inspiration from some of the past IPA numbered series. Tasty and fruity without being heavy, well worth the purchase if you can find it. Also holds up pretty well given the age of this can.

473 mL can from the LCBO, included in Collective Arts' latest Mix 6 pack. Dated Sep 27 2023 and served slightly chilled.

Pours hazy & translucent, its pale yellow-coloured body topped with an inch of bubbly, foamy white head that lasts for several minutes. An eighth-inch cap of soapy suds lives on, surrounded by a creamy collar and an attractive ring of thick lace - looks great so far. Berry-like aromas reminiscent of currant and grape candy are what strike me on the first sniff, with notes of orange juice, pine forest and licorice; quite wheaty, as well.

It tastes of orange peel, passion fruit and grapefruit, supported by plenty of wheaty, crackery malt flavour. Citrus and berries last into a piney, slightly resiny finish; the earthy bitterness that this hop is known for does come through - an ephemeral presence in the aftertaste that doesn't linger. Medium-full in body, with middling carbonation that gently agitates the surface of the tongue - feels smooth, soft and a little fluffy, beefing up its NEIPA cred. Polishing off the first can is easy enough, but it's not a brew I'd drink one after another.

Final Grade: 4.0, an A-. Singular Form is a delightful and effective display of Simcoe's versatility, but it's only fair to point out that this hop has historically been a favourite of mine, i.e. I am naturally inclined to like this beer. I am impressed at how much fruitiness they got out of the hop, especially on the nose - its usual earthy/piney aspects assert themselves only on the back end of the sip. Good stuff - I really liked this single hop IPA, and would buy it again in single format without hesitation.
