We're bringin' the summer vibes nice and early with this margarita-inspired gose! Made with real grapefruit and lime juice as well as Himalayan salt and coriander, this refreshingly tart brew will have you thinking of the beach and ignoring any April showers that might come our way.

LCBO purchase, been hanging on to this for a bit in hopes of warmer weather. Summer seems to arrived on this holiday weekend, so a good time to try this expectedly refreshing brew. Served cold into a tulip.

Appearance - Grapefruit flesh colored beer with plenty of haze and a finger plus of white head resting on top.
Modest staying power and lots of bubbles rising to the surface.

Smell - Grapefruit and lime standup out, but it is a bit of a one dimension citrus note.

Taste - Grapefruit flesh with some bitterness, plenty of tartness, a wheaty backbone and then some kisses of lime. The grapefruit stands out even more as the beer warms a touch. Saltiness sprinkled in liberally for good measure. Mouth puckeringly tart at times.

Mouthfeel - Mouth puckering, medium-light body, crisp carbonation and a general refreshing feeling in the mouth.

Overall - Gose does tend to be a beer I am drawn to but a well executed beer like this Collective Arts offering, it doesn't get much better on those initial days of summer weather than this.

Poured a 473ml can into a glass. A bubbly half finger fine head which dissipated almost immediately. A very cloudy dirty apricot colour. No lacing.

Fruit smells.

Very interesting. Grapefruit up front with a hint of salt. Lime dominates the mildly tart finish.

Medium body and carbonation.

Interesting and easy drinking. It would be very refreshing on a hot day.

can from LCBO....pours a turbid orangish gold in the glass with virtually no cap....aromas of musty citrus and grains....tart almost puckering character....flavor has lime and grapefruit citrus up front with a hint of salt and musty horse blanket demeanor, then a rush or tart sourness that goes dry and puckering in the finish.....very refreshing drink for a warm day

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Feb 12 2024 and served slightly chilled. Limited release, "Sour No. 29" - this appears to be part of a long-going series.

Pours a turbid pinkish-orange colour with plenty of pulp swirling around in the glass; gathered atop is half a finger of loose, soapy white head that vanishes within sixty seconds, leaving nothing of interest behind. Looks like fresh-squeezed ruby red grapefruit juice, save for the carbonation. It smells of grapefruit & lemon juice with moderate lactic character; not getting a lot of lime, but it's there.

The first sip woke me from my mid-afternoon slumber - it's puckeringly sour, tart and acidic. Big flavours of red grapefruit are the dominant feature: juicy flesh/pulp at first, followed by more of a sour note mid-sip; hints of wheaty, bready malts are discernible underneath. Notes of lime juice and lactic acidity combine with telltale grapefruit bitterness/astringency; lime peel, coriander spiciness and saltiness dissipate into a tart, grapefruit-y aftertaste that doesn't linger long. Medium-light in body, with moderately aggressive carbonation that adds some soda-like prickliness to this gose's juicy mouthfeel.

Final Grade: 4.13, an A-. Collective Arts has brewed 3 of my top 6 goses, so I had high hopes for their Grapefruit & Lime Gose. I found the nose to be rather subdued, but I've been kinda stuffed up lately so it might just be me. The flavours, on the other hand, were intense and thoroughly enjoyable, more than making up for what the aroma held back. I think that margarita lovers in particular will appreciate this, as will those who typically enjoy a blast of grapefruit in their brew. I would definitely buy this again, and encourage other BAs to try it before it's gone.
