Appearance: Poured with a solid thumb of head that laced like crazy and retained decently. The body is a cloudy, uttetrly opaque brown.
Smell: Grassy hops, which are of pale ale intensity, and completely out of character for the style. I think I am catching some toffee malts in the background, but the hops are by far the most prevalent note.
Taste: Starts with some mild toffee malt and then just gets walloped by piney hop resin. I've encountered IPAs with less hopping. As you keep drinking it the transition point develops a hard water mineral note to it as well.
Mouthfeel: The hops cling and dominate the aftertaste which shouldn't happen for this style. The carbonation is helping out the beer, but again it's highlight a note that fundamentally is too strong and should not be there. The transition from mild sweetness to hop wallop leaves much to be desired.
Drinkability: Too hoppy to be quaffable for a style that should offer some malt. Medium body and settles down I suppose. However that's not much to say when this comes across as not something I remotely want.
Final Thoughts: This is a Pale ale in disguise simply put, and a fairly aggressive one at that. I mean, if that was the intent here, kudos. However, while I understand American Brown tends towards more bitterness then English Brown, this is too much. Hard pass.

Tasty brown ale, with a pleasant hoppy finish! Hits all the notes for the style. Got straight from the brewery but would buy more if available at stores!

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. Purchase from the brewery. Canned August 15, 2025.
Appearance - Dark hazelnut brown color and capped with two plus fingers of long lived light tan head. Spidery lacing as a residual.
Smell - Earthy with some sharp pine notes, a pinch of citrus and general roastiness. Not the most intense but a nice wide range of aromas.
Taste - Some roastiness with a pinch of caramel sweetness, note of pine in the aftertaste. Medium bitterness. A touch of flowers as well, this beer truly is all over the place but in a good way.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, spritzy carbonation and mineral water like finish.
Overall - Pretty solid brown ale, not a style we see frequently so very happy that Blooming Bones is the representative to be offered.
