an easy drinking wheat based brew with a somewhat belgian yeast complexion, but also with a slight rustic funk, almost more of a saison than a belgian pale, but it is nice and hoppy in the finish too, interesting enough for the beer geeks but a crusher for the hot weather too, i liked this one as well as any beer i had in here. a little cloudy but very light looking, casually bubbly, with a short white head slowly relaxing after the pour. the base beer is light and sort of uninteresting, but the yeasts are clever. i wonder if the brett part is intentional or not, its not quite wild, definitely one of many players, but its character is distinct and if its an accident, its a happy one, and if its on purpose, well done! the belgian yeast has notes of apple and pear and is slightly floral, but its all really dry, creating a perfect landscape for the citrusy hops in the finish. tempered bitterness, this remains very drinkable. i love all the carbonation, it really pops off on the palate and stays refreshing. a neat hybrid sort of ale, maybe my favorite i had here.
