First time visit for Alewife and me to the Corral, on 28JUL20. Each had a 12oz pour of this; Alewife on cask and me a regular draft. Cost was $6.00 each.
Poured a clear, deep chestnut. Had light carbo and a creamy, 1/4" beige head. Thinned to a fine layer, with nice lace. Had a mild nose of caramel, toffee and toasted malts. Was a solid medium for body and smoothness.
Taste had more toffee and caramel, with light malty sweetness. Was a bit nutty, and a smidge peaty. Had only subtle traces of hoppage in the finish. Solid. Prosit!!

This was poured into a thistle. The appearance was a hazy burnt to bronzed brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds leaving some messy lacing sliding into the beer. The smell started off with a sharp sweet toasty caramel malts. There’s a light breadiness with a decent smokey to peaty background to sticky sort of meat like substance. The taste was mainly sweet with an ample amount of smokiness riding into the meaty portion. There’s a lingering sweet meaty aftertaste leading into a semi-sweet sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and really light. It’s good for what it is. Overall, this was a pretty good Scottish ale that I could have again. Everything fits for the style.

On tap at Stone Corral. Clear deep amber. Smells of caramel malt, light smoke, bread, and lightly fruity.. Tastes of slick and oily caramel malt. Gives it a fruity taste. Bready behind it. Smoke in the finish. Dry and medium bodied. Nice.

Great if you love smoke beers, which I do. Even if you don't, it's more subtle with a well balanced malt base. This is the most easily found draft around town and is a pleasant alternative to the hop-centric selections found in most bars. It's amazing with food!

Poured from a 22 oz bottle date printed, into the modified tulip glass.
A - Hazy copper, in color, very little carbonation, no cap.
S - A bit of dish soap in the nose, peat, brown sugar, lightly toasted malts.
T - Malty, sweet, not a hint of hop bite, a thread of off flavors, run through the offering.
M- Slick feel, no carbonation to cleanup. A quick finish.
O - I appreciate the effort and will try this a second time to compare.
Cheers

Begins in a rush of beige foam, which quickly settles into a cloudy caramel-color body void of any head or lacing. There is a heavy nose of malt. The palate is touched by a subtle malt sweetness, one without any bitterness. The body is almost crisp; there is some creaminess about. Not bad, but it does seem to rather cloying for my taste. I am not familiar with this brewer, but I'd like to try more of their beers.

22oz bottle purchased as a single from Winooski Beverage.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1/2" off-white head over the clear orangey amber brew. Head lasts well, with sporadic lasting lace. Aroma is dusty with a light smokiness.
Taste starts following the nose, fruitiness in the middle, and closes chalky with a somewhat off vegetal character. Smooth mouthfeel, and drinkability is easy. Wish a bottle date could tell me if the seemingly off sense I'm getting is age or design.
