From a pint can poured into a snifter glass.
Caramelized dark brown color, taupe color cap, spots of lacing.
Dark and dry roasted malt aroma with chocolate and alcohol.
Chocolate covered roasted malt flavor. Brown sugar. The maple jumps in the finish.
The body is near light side. There’s a touch of English porter watered down feel but the malt and maple carry it through.
Enjoyable throughout.

Great beer for the style. Pours dark brown / chocolate black (duh) with slight head and lacing. Sweet upfront with chocolate and coffee notes, with further sweetness in the rear (as suggested, the maple). Seek this out.

Can from Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury, poured at tiny house. Didn't get much chocolate/maple. Just an average porter.

16 oz. can.

Moderate to vigorous pour yields a 1/2 inch tan head over a dark brown body with scant lacing. Nose of roasted malt, chocolate, and very slight maple. Taste follows nose with more maple flavor, chocolate, and molasses, brown sugar as it warms. Very tasty with a good feel. Let this baby warm a bit for a more enjoyable experience. Cheers!

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a good one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. No lacing showed up at all. The smell had a nice sweet blend of maple to dark chocolate to milk chocolate. A light roasty coffee helps to balance decently. The taste was sweet to roasty balanced between the chocolate, the maple and the coffee. Lingering roasty aftertaste leads to a dry roasty finish. On the palate, this one sat just like an American Porter should - about a light to medium giving off a decent sessionability to it. Carbonation seems good, but may seem a bit more subtle due to the aging. Overall, English Porter, well everything fits. And with the maple and the chocolate, I say yes.
