On tap at Stone Corral. Hazy deep orange. Smells malty. Sweet honey. Lemon citrus. Tastes of sweet caramel malts. Stone fruit, as advertised in the description. Pushes grapefruit in the finish. Moderate bitterness. Not a standard NE style IPA. It’s also too sweet to be my thing. Interesting hops, but too sugary.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark burnt amber to red color with a quick thin white foamy head that dissipated at an even pace. Filmy clingy lacing around the glass. The smell starts with sweet stonefruit, delicate honey, subtle crisp grassiness. Subtle sweet grapes. The flavor combines all previously mentioned aromas and blends into a sweet toffee/caramel malt backbone. Caramel malt backbone dryly moves into the aftertaste and leaves a super quick finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Carbonation runs fairly light. Normal DIPA bitterness doesn’t hit as expected. This one, yes, its a bit smoother (I’m thinking the honey may have helped). Overall, well as an DIPA, I’d say it works, I see all of the qualities of one. To me, its reminiscent of an old school DIPA with the maltiness coming out. I don’t mind it, but I can see how a fair amount of people might not like this.

From the bottle, it pours a nice coppery amber with a nice head, eventually reducing to a thin layer with lacing. A bit of malt in the nose. Taste is malty with some grapefruit.

Not much to say about this beer. It pours a totally clear, dark copper brown, with a tall tan head. Aroma is of malt with just a hint of stone fruit. Taste is malty, with some honey in the background, and a slightly bitter finish. Mouth is medium-thick, soft, low carbonation. Overall, this was not what I expected from a Vermont-brewed double IPA. Hops only appear as bittering hops...there is no late hop flavor whatsoever.

Pours a strong amber hue with a nice frothy white head into my glass.

Thick and malty with some hop character in the nose.

Bitter malt bomb. Burns the throat going down. Hardly any character.

Finishes incredibly bitter but in an unpleasant way.

Hmm. I wasn't feeling it with this beer and that's probably because I'm used to drinking citrus hop bombs.

Pours a maple amber with a finger of dense head that settles to a thick collar with lots of sticky lacing. Very much a malt bomb...with traces of honey and resin.
