Poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a darker hued hazy burnt orange color with a finger's worth of white foamy head that slid off at a fair pace. Some light stringy lace ran here and there.
The aroma had some sweet to bitter grassiness, floral hop qualities, light orange pulp, some lemon rind, a tickle of tangerine, and ended with a "pulled" grapefruit juiciness for the overall blend.
The flavor was moderately juicy sweet with a steady bitterness coming in for a clean balance. Moderate aftertaste of the juicy grapefruit to floral hop qualities.
The mouthfeel was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt on par. Clean juicy to orange-sweet and grapefruity finish.
Overall, they were trying for a New England styled IPA and I'd say they did a pretty good job, maybe not up there with a Heady, a Trillium, Lawson's IPA, or Tree House, but this has a ton of potential and I could see with a little tweaking, it will be a contender soon enough.
