I had my first when Headlands was 7 years old and now they are 12 as I drink my second. Then, they weren't mature as a business. Now they are. Since then, they grew from one taproom to just opening their fourth and two have decent barfood menus. Their beer offerings are still relatively small for a 12 year old micro (most like to show off their prowess.) But focussing more on the core allows Headlands to be more profitable and grow in an industry whose growth is now in decline. However like their 7 year old self, Headlands still does all the Good Guy stuff, only more now: community, 1% philanthropy with parks and groups preserving the Bay Area's natural wealth.
As for Socked In (as in the Bay Area's fog), it is an enjoyable NEIPA and is above average across my ratings. Socked In Looks a nice billowing foam that sticks around as lace. Smells are full-on tropical fruit. Tastes are well-balanced with the bitter hops barely discernible until the finish. Soft, not quite medium-mouthed in a full style.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
