Pours a very light almost pale golden color. Aroma is floral with some yeasty funk. Slight hops. In the taste, soap, herbs, grass, hay and lavender. Firm malt flavor, really no tartness. Light bodied brew with a medium carbonation. Overall, this is an average American Saison. Nondescript but not bad at all.

a: Bright, clear straw color; served with a small, sticky head.
s: Peppery yeast, fresh cut hay, and a hint of pear.
t: One the dry side but not all the way. Mostly grains and funky yeast with a touch sweey pear.
m: Maybe a tad heavy for a table strength saison.
o: What a nice surprise! Dry, flavorful, and extremely drinkable.

This is very much an “interpretation” of a saison (and Belgian ales in general) that a lot of American breweries are doing. Strong soap. Noticeable sweetness. Good portion of bready tones going on. Whether or not you appreciate that kind of beer is definitely a preference of taste. For me, I don’t like it, and frankly, I am bored with it. I have had a lot of different saisons that are made in the traditional style such as Fantôme, Dupont, etc. Those are stellar beers that any brewer should aspire to emulate. Many don’t seem to be able to pull it off. This is not really a saison to me. It’s another generic clone of a style that most American breweries seem to have a difficult time trying to truly emulate, or just don't care to.
