Pours a cola black color with small head that dissipates quickly. Smell is mild roast and dark caramel. Taste is a range of sweet malt flavors up front - raisins, caramel, and syrup with some nut flavors and acrid roast on the back of the palate. Balances to the less roasty, more rich malt profile. As it warms, I taste some diacetyl. Not a bad beer - I’d prefer a little more roast, but this is a good beer.
