Hear ye, hear ye! Big Grove Brewery presents a mighty, 9.0% imperial hazy IPA. Fruity aromas of tangerine and clementine showcase bushels and hand-selected hops. This Eddy is royally hazy and silky smooth.

Hazy yellow/orange color with a decent and lasting off white head and some nice lacing.
The aroma is citrus with an apple or white grape note.
The taste is tangerine, with a touch of white grape, caramel and pine, slightly sweet, moderate bitterness.
The body is medium, good carbonation, smooth and fairly drinkable, ABV is noticeable but subdued.
Altogether, this is a tasty and enjoyable brew, could work with barbecue or other hearty fare, not bad for after dinner sipping, well done.

12oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sticky lacing. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, pineapple and caramel. Nice bitterness with toasted caramel and a citrus zing.

A - A hazy, golden orange body, clear with a light off-white head, extensive lacing.
S - Strong citrus front, resin and pine brightness.
T - Follows the nose, with a fat hop smack, citrus and pine open, a strong malt middle, and a solidly bitter close.
M - Moderate weight, some carbonation, and a dry, clean finish.
O - A satisfying brew, with traditional DIPA taste and feel, delivering a big ABV in a pleasant, drinkable package.

On tap at the source in Iowa City. Exactly what’s purported - Easy Eddy with strength. Very good.

Looks amazing, with great head retention of pillowy white foam and a pronounced but modest haze. smells of apple and other fruity esters, mouthfeel is warm and flavor is a bit boozy overall. Overall I like my DIPAs drier and with greater hop presence.

As a big fan of NE and Hazy IPAs, it comes as no surprise that Big Ed is my favorite beer out of Iowa City. So when I saw Big Grove was releasing an even stronger, even hazier Imperial IPA version of Big Ed (and it's easy-drinking little brother, Easy Eddy,) I knew I had to grab some before it disappeared back into the place all Eds go between brewing seasons.
Look: Hazy, nearly opaque, with heavy suspended sediment throughout. Honey-hued yellow-orange with a thin but persistent head.
Smell: Sweet, a rich undertone that borders on syrupy, guava, papaya, and stone fruit, almost a deep, ripe plum without the tartness.
Taste: Mild booziness, lingering citrusy tropical fruit aftertaste, overall very sweet, almost excessively so. Tends more towards the sweetness of plum than the bitterness of grapefruit.
Feel: Thick, moderate carbonation, viscous. A mild bite from the high ABV content. Not a great mouthfeel on this one, it almost feels malted.
Overall: Not quite as venerable as Big Ed, the high ABV compromises some of the subtler complexities. A good choice for a 9% though, this does goes down like a 7% with an added burn.
