This was a City Wide Liquor exclusive that came from a single Four Roses barrel. Really glad that I stumbled upon this, and priced at $12.99 I couldn't pass it up. It also forced me to go to the brewery and grab the other two versions for comparison purposes. On to the review...
Classic sludgy black pour with a cocoa colored foam cap. Coffee hits me quick on the nose and reminds me a lot of Sunday Morning Stout. Flavor explodes out of this one! It was just as good chilled as it was as it warmed up. Feint roasted cherry in the coffee with your typical RIS components. Best mouthfeel I've ever had for this style.
I haven't really ever liked much these guys have put out, but over the last half year they have been rolling out some gems. I hope they keep up this tradition with the local coffee and random nice barrel.
