A: a deep red brown with a small tan head.
S: spice notes, with belgian yeast character, and alcohol notes. Cinnamon and raisin, with sweet bread aroma.
T: bready with died fruit, and holiday spice.
M: medium thick with somewhat lower carbonation.
O: overall tasty, I wish the spice was a little more subdued, and the carbonation was more aggressive.

From the pint can, it pours a clear brown color with reddish hints and a modest off-white/light tan head that soon diminishes to a thin ring and a small island of foam. In the nose, definite scent of candied sugar and some spices. In the mouth, it is strongly candied sugar, spices and dark fruits.
In 2020, it is listed as 11.2 percent alcohol.

Overly spiced to the point of losing the base beer style (still drinkable). Maybe age would help?

I don't see any date on the bottle. The label lists "Alc. 11.2% by Vol."
Appearance: The body of the beer is a dark brown color. It forms a very thin light tan layer of foam over the surface that never forms into a proper head. The layer fades out to a thin ring with a few large bubbles.
Aroma: There is not much aroma at all. Getting very close to the beer reveals a bit of a smoked wood scent and what smells a bit like prunes. These aromas are barely there and although there is some minor semblance of aroma it is very lackluster for even an average quad.
Taste: I get this strong woody flavor that tastes like a smoked meat. It's a bit odd. There is a bit of licorice mixed with burnt charcoal flavor. There is a bit of slightly sweet and slightly burnt caramel flavor somewhere in the middle that fights for center stage with the licorice. The aftertaste really has this marinated and smoked meat flavor which, again, is very odd and feels out of place in the beer. As a whole the beer does have some bold flavors but it just tastes like an unbalanced mess.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation feels a bit flat and the medium body beer just feels sluggish across the palate. The bitterness in the beer is disproportionate to what a person would expect in a Belgian style Quad. There is a bit of a raspy tannic quality to the finish which further degrades drinkability.
Overall: With the crazy swaths of mismatched flavors crossing each others path the beer just did not feel enjoyable to drink. It was interesting to taste but not something that worked well as a whole. I really don't recommend it unless you want to try something a bit off-the-wall. I wouldn't pick it up again.
