750 ml bottle into a tulip glass.
Pours a hazy golden orange with a one finger head and lots of foamy cling. Smell is mostly yeast and some dank hops. A little tea comes through. Taste brings yeast, light malt, and a fair amount of tea. Smooth, well carbonated, taste lingers.
Great flavor. The Darjeeling tea works really well with the Motueka hops. Different and enjoyable.

On tap @ Lickinghole Creek on Heir Apparent Day.. Pours a golden/copper with white head. Aroma of malt, phenolic yeast, citrus and black tea. Earthy/Floral hops. Flavor follows but Could have a touch less bitterness to make the Darjeeling stand out more. The tannic qualities of the tea sort of clash with the bitterness for me. Feel was med-light, also a little higher than I would normally expect for the style. This could have been a palate issue because I drank a cask variant of Heir Apparent (Super Chocolate) before trying this. Backwards I know, but had to get in on the small cask before it was gone! Overall, not bad, but could use some tweaks.

Pours dark rust with a nice foamy head but definitely more opaque than expected for a tripel.
Nose is huge on the darjeeling. Some booze and malt is there with yeast too but the tea comes through huge.
Oddly enough, the tea is almost entirely gone from the flavor while sampling but it comes back huge on the finish - nice, drying bitter to counter a typically sweet and boozy brew. It's different, surprising, and really works.
Finish is clean, light, and bitter from the tea - the honey sweetness that coats during the tasting fades quickly leaving the floral tea notes to shine. Really very nice and interesting brew here.

Starts with a bright, floral, citrusy tripel, but the back end of the taste is the darjeeling black tea. The darjeeling remains strong and overwhelms throughout the rest of the glass. I am not a huge darjeeling fan and this is not one of the better offerings from LCCB. Slightly astringent and mossy.
