As the name suggests, Citra Fresh IPA is made to be consumed immediately. Hopped generously with the most sought after hop on the planet Earth - Citra. Citra hops impart a smooth citrus aroma and flavor in a beer. We designed a delicate and soft malt backbone to accentuate the hop flavor and added nearly 1.5 lbs of Citra hops per barrel-all near the end of the boil, to get the most flavor and aroma from the hop. It's a very freshly beer!

On tap at Sehkraft into a nonic glass. Reviewed from notes dated October 17, 2016.
A-The beer is very murky and an unattractive rusty, orange-brown color. The head on my pour is short, but the white foam hangs around for quite a while and leaves fine curtains of lace on the glass as I drink it down.
S-Lots of citra hops here, but the aroma is pretty astringent. I sniff lemon, orange zest, pine, grapefruit, and pepper. Not much in the way of malts to tame the heavy hop aromas. Smells a bit solvent-like.
T-The taste is similar. Lots of citra hops here, with flavors of lemongrass, white pepper, grapefruit, and orange zest completely dominating my palate. Only the faintest hint of pine and even fainter hints of caramel malt lie underneath the hops. Like the smell, the taste is so hop heavy that it reminds me of citrus cleaning product.
M-The body is substantial, but not overly filling. The carbonation is fine and pretty mellow on the palate. Drinks clean with very little resinous coating or stickiness.
O-I like citra and with the right food Citra Fresh could be a nice pairing, but this beer could use a little balance. It is so hoppy and dry that it becomes almost astringent, especially on the finish. Also, it is not terribly attractive.

Pours amber against my white screen, but red against my lamp. hazily transparent on the first glass a 2+ finger off white head that leaves thick, sticky lacing. The second glass is thick with sediment, mostly opaque and brown, only the bottom inch is translucent and a brownish orange.
"Fresh" is definitely the word. The aroma is very hop forward, but there are hints of caramel malt, and perhaps doughty yeast, though the last may simply be ripe to over ripe citrus. Orange and grapefruit with a bit of tropical fruits.
Tart lemon/grapefruit, sweet orange, and bitter citrus peel in the taste. Tropical fruit and a single blast of "almost" cherry. Light caramel with a hoppy bitterness that, for me, paled next to the aromatics. A couple of hints at bubblegum.
Medium plus in body with light to moderate carbonation. Sticky and drying in the end. Retentive. Well-balanced.
Wow! Maybe the best IPA ever! This is a great beer! Usually when I think "decadent" in relation to beer, I'm thinking of a highly malted beer, but in this beer, I attribute the decadence to the hops.
Did they brew another batch? No born on date, but LCB says the release date was 12/12/15, yet this tastes like it was released yesterday! Spectacular!

750 mL capped bottle poured into a stemmed glass.
Amber color with a large, white carbonated head on the beer.
Solid malt backbone, strong bitter finish.
Well balanced with the citra not overpowering.
