L: Poured from a bottle to a goblet. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a 3/4", creamy, tan-colored, fairly long-lasting head. Sparse lacing.
S: An enticing aroma of bourbon, coconut, dark fruit, malt, and vanilla.
T: Tasted of a hint of malt (not overly present), a little vanilla, lots of coconut (a dominant ingredient), a good shot of bourbon (and its oak barrel), and some dark fruit (plums, especially). An interesting flavor all around. The coconut and bourbon play very well together, even though coconut is the clear star. Complex, lively, and very flavorful.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a sharp finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A well made, enjoyable quad. Drinkable.

750 ml bottle into a chalice. Had 12/22/17.
Pours a dark amber, opaque, with a one inch foamy head and a good amount of foamy lacing. Aromas of grapes, plums, malt, figs, light coconut, dates, light bourbon and maple. The taste is a little more assertive than the aroma- malt, bourbon, coconut, plums, figs, dates, some brown sugar, light oak. Very smooth, creamy, a solid medium to full body, well carbonated.
This is damn good. The coconut stands out nicely, great flavor and aroma, the bourbon is well integrated. Not sure why this isn’t rated much higher. Definitely well worth a purchase.

This one pours a fairly dark brown, with a persistent large head, and big streaks of lacing.
This smells incredibly coconut forward- fleshy and sweet, with raisin, bourbon and oak as well.
The coconut is the dominant force here, it's toasty and sweet and bready. The quad base is slightly buried, but you do get some dark fruit and twangy clove. The bourbon is lightly integrated, and there's a lot of oak- and the vanilla/coconut like flavor that comes along with that.
The ABV is absolutely hidden. The beer is definitely warming, but you'd have no idea it was 12%.
This is a very interesting beer, and a great use of coconut.
