473 ml can served cold into a chalice, LCBO purchase for around $3.50 CDN.

Appearance - hazy, rich golden color with a finger of perfectly white head. Medium retention and a nice looking ring of lacing at the edge of the glass. A little bit of sediment in the beer.

Smell - fairly tropical although subdued with pineapple mango and grapefruit leading the way. Possible some cantaloupe mixed in. Above average nose.

Taste - low on intensity, but quite a bit of pineapple flavor showing through. Hints of melon and little bitterness, although not really juicy either.

Mouthfeel - medium- light bodied, although a touch sticky to finish, carbonation is quite light.

Overall - a surprisingly good and tropical IPA. For those who enjoy pineapple this will hit the spot.

Pours hazy peach with a frothy, smallish head. Citrus and white pepper with some cookie dough in the nose. The taste is of lemon, lime and peach hops with a solid, chewy, biscuit malt ballast. The mouthfeel is full bodied with medium carbonation. moderate bitterness and lingering maltiness in the finish.

This IPA has an interesting hop profile and lots of malt presence. Worth a try.

Tallboy from the LCBO; canned on 10/11/2018 and served slightly chilled. Consumed on Dec 14 and reviewed from notes.

Pours a hazy, translucent golden-blonde colour, generating nearly one finger of loose, bubbly white froth that vanishes within 90 seconds. A thin collar is all that remains, with no cap in sight, and not much in the way of lace, either. A little dull to look at, and not particularly aromatic, either - I'm getting some grassy, floral hops with a few piney, resiny qualities and hints of lemon zest. Smells clean and fresh.

Fairly tasty, albeit unremarkable. Grainy, crackery pale malt sweetness lingers throughout the background of the entire sip, continuously overshadowed by the hops. Lemony citrus peel and floral, grassy notes come through first, with more of an herbal, resiny element picking up steam towards the finish. A quick hint of white grapefruit pith precedes a moderately bitter aftertaste that doesn't persist. Medium in body, with lively carbonation that assertively prickles and prods at the palate, giving this brew a crisp, fairly refreshing, mouthfeel. Easy to toss back: not exactly a palate crusher, as its abv is well-integrated and its overall bitterness is not particularly acute.

Final Grade: 3.74, a respectable B grade. Lickinghole Creek's 9 Mile IPA is a bit conservative and old school as IPAs go - which actually made for a nice change-up from the juicy NE-type stuff that often fills my review docket these days. Not at all a worldbeater, but I'd still expect most hopheads to appreciate this one, at least to some extent. It's also about the same price as the domestic alternatives, which should give this one a leg-up over the other American IPAs that get shipped to this market (which generally cost more than the locals). I'll buy some more while it's available.

Not a lot to say about this beer. It's a good IPA but it doesn't jump out for any reason. The look is standard, slightly hazy gold with an okay head and some lacing. Smell is floral with citrus and a bit of grain. Taste is nice, but the downside is the grainyness comes through a bit more than I like. Feel is medium bodied, decent carbonation and a nice dry bitter finish.

I would have this again, but I know there are better IPAs out there at this price point.

Thanks to MikeXW for this from his ninja box Rookies BIF #2. 12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a cloudy yellow color with about 3/4 inch of white head that had good retention and lacing.

There was a faint grain aroma in the background, and some floral and fruity hops at the front. pretty much the same on the tongue, just a basic, soft IPA flavor.

The body was lighter than medium, with a semi-dry finish. Drinkability was good, no issues with consuming it, but it didn't leave me wanting more either. Overall, a solidly average brew.

12oz can, pint glass, canned 4/2/18.

I fill my glass with lustrous golden liquid and am rewarded even more with a dirty white meringue, not baked, but poured on. The head has crazy good retention; two solid fingers minutes later.

Call em out as ya see em: lemon meringue, tangerine, sweet tarts. It’s soft and fruity.

Citric, tart oily hoppiness. Flavors of yellow grapefruit, Meyer lemon, down and dirty green hop oil. It’s also a bit catty, with a concentrated finish.

Laying heavy on the tongue, that concentrated finish plays into what is an almost syrupy, slick mouthfeel. Balance is served decently by bubbles.

This is a beautiful beer and almost reaches the transcendent IPA level as a whole.

From the bottom of the can: " 11/09/17 @11:40:32"

Appearance: The body is very hazy to the point where only a dull shadow is visible through it. It has a beige color and a short creamy textured white head. It has good retention.

Aroma: There is a very light floral aroma. It's so subdued that you almost have to bury your nose to smell it. The aroma isn't necessarily bad but it does seem sub-par.

Taste: Up front there is more floral character. It is pleasant with just a touch of herbal character and a very light minty background. The more the beer is consumed the more it builds up a soapy

Mouthfeel: It has pretty good bitterness at the end. It has a medium-light body with a bit of texture to it.

Overall; The beer just feels below average of what you can buy on the market right now. The floral and slightly herbal character of the beer is decent but after drinking one of these beers I would have no inclination to grab another one. I really wouldn't recommend it given the alternatives and I wouldn't buy it again.
