Copenhagen 26/4 2021. 75 cl bottle from Væskebalancen, Valby Langgade, Valby. A black skeptical-looking pig with a mohawk hanging out with a pineapple on the label.
Pours almost opaque dark maroon with a big off-white head. Settles as uneven, lumpy crown of foam completely obscuring the surface of the beer. Massive lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a malty sweetness mingling with a heavy roasted scent. Caramel, chocolate, dark roasted malts. Lighter citric notes of lime and grapefruit peeking in. No signs of the pineapple.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a light sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is dry.
Reminds me more of a Black IPA than a Brown Ale mixing hard roasted malts with a notable bitterness.

L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a murky, thick texture. There was an inch and a half of off white, foamy, long-lasting head. Fantastic lacing.
S: A decent aroma of malt, pineapple, light hops, and a little smoke.
T: Tasted of a bit of hops (mostly in the finish), lots of malt, a tinge of pineapple (mostly in the finish), a kind of dry, chemical taste (at first), and a light smokiness. This is one of those flavors that grows on you the more you go along. It has a dry harshness at first, but then the pineapple kicks in and makes things interesting.
F: A fair amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: Granted, this beer has its flaws, but it's better than the score suggests. Worth a try.

On tap at Mule Bar, Winooski, Vermont.
This was poured into a chalice.
The appearance was a murky dark brown color with barely any head. What was there just slid off into oblivion leaving no lace.
The aroma had a muted earthy to grassy hoppiness meshing with some smoked and roasted malts. A touch of baker's chocolate and cooked wafer-like arrangement nestled in there.
The flavor was semi-smoky with the roast and the sweetness sliding on in there stealthily for a smooth malty rich to smoky backing in the aftertaste.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. ABV was there as projected and without flaw. Carbonation felt on par. Smoky to rich malty finish with a little bit of dark bread.
Overall, I liked this one for me as it came across well brewed however, the pineapple wasn't necessarily there. I could still see myself coming back to, though.

Labeled as an Imperial Smoked Brown Ale brewed with pineapple. The smoke is prevalent on the nose, but not dominant, and the same goes for it as far as flavor. Zero pineapple. Not bad, just a but odd and not really as advertised
