L: Poured from a tallboy can to a pint glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick consistency. There was a half inch of creamy, tan-colored, somewhat long-lasting head. Not a whole lot of lacing.
S: A fair aroma of malt, chocolate, hops, and wood.
T: Tasted of a mild bit of hops (not overly present), a light wood quality (apparently cedar), lots of malt (present throughout), and a little bit of chocolate (could've used more). Not a bad flavor, but nothing special. It has the same problem a lot of beers in this style have: It's a one-trick pony. It's malty, but none of the other ingredients really jump out at you.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a dry, smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This is one of those not bad beers. Nothing overly interesting, but worth a look.
