16oz can into a pint glass. Canned 4/27/21, so 6 months old.
Looks very nice in the glass. Jet black body with a small tan head. This shrinks to a persistent ring, leaving good lacing early on.
Oddly enough, not much of an aroma, just a little dried fruit.
On tasting though, a lot going on. Both bitter and roasty, a ton of raisin, a little sweetness, and very warming in the throat.
Mouth full, finish a warming bitter roast with a final sweet note.
Overall, a strong well made RIS. Happy to have a chance to try it.

Picked up a can at a shop in Pennsylvania. Been cellared for about 8 months in my cellar.
Pouring my 16 oz can into my pint glass at cellar temp.
Pours a clear cola brown color with creamy beige head of 5 cm that actually gets a little cascading action.
The foam fades slowly, leaving some craters on the surface.
Aroma is dry bakers chocolate, some whisky and a bit of oak or barrel. There is a bit of vanilla tucked in there too.
First sip reveals a medium body with smooth texture and fine tingly pcarbonation. Beer drinks real easy and feels nice on my palate.
Flavor is dark chocolate and roast up front and then some bourbon and vanilla come through with a bit of a toffeeish note. No hops anywhere and only a hint of booze on the finish. Not really heat or fusol, but some black pepper bite comes through.
Generally this is another good beer from a brewery that Im appreciated their imp stout game.
Id buy this one again.
