Traded for this last night here in town as I hadn't had anything from LIckinghole in a while. Wasn't given much info on this based on it's Instagram description and although this was a bit nondescript, it wasn't a bad beer as it checked off all of the proverbial boxes while being just complex enough to hold my attention.
This had a hazy, apricot hue to it as the lacing ended up saving the day. The head was sufficient and full but the rings left behind were quite layered and extensive, as each one bled down to the next. Tons of nectarine, melon, and dry white cheese in the nose as some tropical fruit. white grape, and overripe white peach emerged in the taste as this was plenty dank and turbid from start to finish. The feeling to this was almost like wine, down to the hints of spice, funk, and nuance that made this different than a typical New England IPA. Full in body, light in carbonation, and a bit dank in the back, the aftertaste was like apple as this could have been a bit brighter.
Couldn't read the writing on the bottom of the can although this seemed to be brewed back in May. It held up well but left a bit to be desired, as this could have been easily mistaken for a Farmhouse Ale. Enjoy it once - if nothing more for it's deviance from the norm and the playing card-like label, as both easily set this apart from it's peers.
