Another excellent seasonal offering from Cinderblock, whose base line offerings are mediocre at best. This beer is exceptional, with a lovely aroma and a refreshing bit complex set of flavors.

one heck of an interesting beer here, love how experimental and boundary pushing this is, and i think the execution isnt bad for what it is, in need of some tweaks no doubt, but a beautiful start. its a sour wheat based beer with peaches and apricots, and i have to say, the fruit is really authentic and intense. you almost taste and feel the fuzzy outsides of the fruit, and you certainly get the ripe juicy flesh of both together in this hazy orange beer. it smells just fabulous, the best feature of the beer, you can smell the grain in there with the fruit, and the yeast has me puzzled. there is a pucker and a mouthwatering thing, but its not very acidic on the palate, and as sour as it is, its also rather funky. the fruit shows up first in the taste and is very genuine. i have no doubt they used real fresh fruit in this. my only problem is that there is a building phenolic property that seems to intensify as the beer warms. its downright gauze and bandaid, hospital sterile in the finish, and although the fruit does come back again to save the day, this late middle off flavor is a big distraction, and once i tune in to it, kind of ruins the beer for me. i know these can drop our over time, so maybe the beer is just young. my group didnt notice it at all until i suggested it, so maybe i am more sensitive to this than others, but it hurt the overall for me. if they clean this up though, i think they have a beer that can rival most. i like how weird the yeast is and the use of fruit is as good as any. keep pushing!

Peach farmhouse sour aged in Chardonnay barrels and then added 150 lbs of apricots and peaches
A delicious sour. Some tartness, complexity, depth from the added fruit, and a strong body to stand up to everything going on. Comes off as fresh and spot on for the season. Just another example of a tremendous use of barrels by one of the best breweries in the KC area.
