Pours black with half a finger of khaki foam. Head retention is decent. Aroma is pine, resin, fir hops and biscuity, toasty, and roasty malts. Flavor profile features a hop bite that is soothed out by the malts a touch. Hops hit resiny, piney and herbal, and malts hit roasty and toasty. There is a touch of fir that furthers the "evergreen" forest sensation. Mouth feel is a little prick of carbonation out front that opens up crisp, and then smooths out into a more soothing crispness. It has a medium thickness. Overall, hops and malts blend well, featuring a little hop bite and dark malt smoothness. Lovely balance.
