A: The beer is very hazy yellow in color—not nearly too hazy enough to see that there is a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass and some specks of bubbles on the surface.
S: Light to moderate aromas of peaches, pineapples, and white grapes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of white grapes along with notes of peaches and hints of pineapples. No bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and somewhat juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA is very easy to drink and really showcases the aromas and flavors of the Hallertau Blanc hops.

[From Notes | Consumed 7/4/17]

@ State of Beer

Hazy yellow-gold with a sticky white head that leaves some webby lacing on the glass. Soft aromas of creamsicle, mango puree, and lemon zest. Creamy lemon/orange and mango hop flavor. Medium-light bodied, soft feel with a nice dry finish. Good stuff - soft, fruity, and not too sweet.

This beer pours a very cloudy, although not completely opaque, golden orange color with a 1.5 finger, dense, bright white head. Retention is excellent and there is a beautiful mosaic of spotted lacing left all over the glass.

Smell is awesome. Mango, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine and a dank green herbalness explode out of the glass.

Taste is similar, though not as bright as I would have thought with the how amazing the aroma is. The herbal flavor provides a moderately bitter finish which muddles the fruit flavors a little bit. Still very tasty.

Feel is way too thin. The carbonation is low like with most Grimm beers, but not nearly as soft and creamy so it doesn't really work. Definitely needs more carbonation.

Overall a very good beer. The smell is outstanding and flavor wise it was a joy to drink, but the thinness of the body along with the low carbonation puts this one a tier or two below the best IPAs I've had from Grimm.

Tall can, purchased at Bay Shore Beer and soda, Bay Shore NY

Bottom of can tells me it was canned 6/16/17...yeah fresh....

Pours heavily hazed, frothy and quality look to the light khaki cap, and leaving loads of fine lace...nice looking brew

Pungent and dank pineapple, grapefruit, orange infused nose

Tropical fruit bomb, more of the sniff all over the palate, especially that delicious ripe pineapple...simply delicious...go get some of this nectar and enjoy

Juicy, citrusy New England IPA. Hazy and beautiful with a nice thick head. Soft orange dominates at the start, but it finishes with a vaguely piney bitterness.

Mouthfeel is thick and rich with moderate carbonation. A great beer for a hot day.

Grimm makes some incredible beers, and their IPAs rival the best offerings from the big east coast cult producers. This beer stands as one of their best. Balanced, smooth, delightful. Buy whenever you see it.

Very nice New England style IPA. Pours thin and pale with very little head, but with a rich, unfiltered, juicy appearance. Very little nose in this can, maybe it was an it too cold? Flavor is excellent, nice blend of hop varieties, nice and juicy.
Finish is clean and crisp. Very impressed with this beer.

On tap, pours a very hazy orange-gold. Big, dense two fingers of foam. Lots of lacing.

Smell is fruity and complex, with mango, passionfruit, grapefruit and lemon. Earthy notes.

Taste is a fruit blast, with the tart passionfruit dominating at first, followed quickly by a solid and lingering resinous bitterness--personally I like this, with the bitterness providing a nice counterpoint to the fruit flavors.

Feel is a smooth and drinkable medium minus. A super flavorful IPA.

Poured a very hazy orange color with a good amount of bubbly white head. Tons of fruit in the nose, mango, orange, and apricot mixed with a good earthiness and malty finish. Very juicy upfront before a dank bitterness takes over giving in finally to a slight doughy finish with the malt. Excellent combination of flavors, very balanced giving each its time to shine. Grimm hits another one out of the park with this IPA!

Traded for this a little over a month ago and finally got around to having it tonight, as the date on the bottom read 10/12. I love Grimm's beers and although this wasn't their best offering, it was solid from start to finish and nicely crafted. Of course, this was on par with everything else that I've had from them!

Nice pour to this as the beer had a golden hue, a fair amount of haze, and more than enough head to measure up to the appearance of the liquid. There was a ton of lacing left on the side of my pint glass as I worked my way through this and the aroma was decent, though not overpowering. Lots of candied sugar, marmalade, tropical fruits, and apricot on the nose with even more sweetness in the taste. White grape and a mild herbal tone set in as the liquid settled with a good amount of body because of the malt. It felt like bread and gave this beer nice balance as the Hallertau Blanc shone through like no other Hops could. This had a wonderful nectar feel to this as liquid was pure apricot and agave and the low amount of carbonation ensured that any flavor would linger for a while before receding, as the finish to this was quite dry.

There was enough booze here but it wasn't something that I could pick out over everything else. It would be great to have more beers that featured Hallertau Blanc Hops, if for no other reason that it would be easier to pick them out in the midst of the flavors. Fans of Grimm will enjoy this but had this been a bit more intense, it could have been their best beer. A great beer with a lovely, dry sweetness that's sure to please!

Featuring the highly coveted Galaxy hops and the newly developed Germanic Hallertau Blanc variety, the classic citrus and pine character of American IPA is set aside, more in favor of an exotic tropical fruit fare and a brisk wine-like peppery bite.

Grimm's Awoogah will have you sounding off like a bull horn, first from its bright and tangy scent. Tropical fruit, berry and melon register with a juicy succulence that floats just above a hazy straw body and a creamy swath of cottony foam. Its taste is supple with grain sweetness. Faint maltiness is of simple sweetness and a thin skirt of wafer crackers rendering its malt profile almost lager-like.

As the sweetness and breadiness fades, the hops intensify. Passionfruit, white grape, lime, lemon, white grapefruit, kiwi, honeydew and dragon fruit develop from a floral upstart and into mild tartness. As the bitterness sets in, so does the beer's more herbal accompaniment. Geranium, chive, sassafras and mild lemon teas come to mind while a grassy bitterness of cannabis and spruce march onward. The beer's pleasant tanginess often comes across like riesling wine, except from the hop-front.

Medium-light but turning remarkably dry, the beer flirts with textures of lightness and even watering a touch. Its radiant carbonation fuels an acidic bite while the bitter, stemmy finish is long and sharp. With an afterglow of exotic fruit, the beer's floral and herbal character wafts gently above the palate.

Vibrant golden orange. White head with lace.

Lots of fruit. Apricot, mango, and orange. Earthy and hoppy. Tropical. Juicy. Melons.

Soft bodied not too bitter.

One of Grimm's better IPAs. Very enjoyable.

Hazy amber-orange with a moderate off-white head and a fair amount of lace.

Smell is mint, allium, lemon lime, and cattiness.

Taste is lemon, orange, grapefruit, and dry pine--seems at first to be a well done West meets East, but really just coming across most as a West Coast the more I think about it.

Got some of these beers, a month ago and forgot to review so I am posting now. Beer was canned just 24 days ago and I there isn't any discernible loss of quality.

Look: lovely hazy deep golden color with a thick and creamy head.

Smell: A little dank earthiness that quickly transitions to peaches and green melon. Smells like it has mosaic in it except it doesn't.

Taste: Much Juicy on the palate. Lots of peaches and melons. Some lingering sweetness that is characteristic of GRIMM beers but still has enough of a bitter finish to make it nice and drinkable.

Mouthfeel: Doesn't have the full mouthfeel of a DIPA , but it has a great mouthfeel for a single.

Overall(Style Points): Super Juicy single IPA. Very GRIMM in style with its juicy sweetness. One of GRIMM's best, 94.25 Points!

L - this can is a maze? Brings me back to my puzzle books as a kid. Pours a brick of golden yellow haze. The light makes it glow and the brownish hue does its best to suck up that light. Thin head with tiny bubbles.

S - lemon and grapefruit. Develops into orange candy and mango cream. Slightest hint of vanilla.

T - candied citrus, mostly mandarin oranges. Not a lot of hop bite, lots of cream. Bubblegum and creamsicle. Orange sherbet with that Luigi's lemon Italian ice. Delightfully sweet and refreshing with minor bitterness on the finish to remind you it's an IPA after all! Strong juice presence.

F - creamy is the best way to describe it. Starts smooth and low carbonation and expands in the mouth to saturate every corner with tha juice.

O - stellar IPA with a ton of juice flavor. Not too bright, not too dank, wonderfully balanced. Hop bitterness is low, so if you're looking to get your hair blown back, this isn't the beer for you. But the juice... if you're after the juice...

Hazy golden yellow with eggshell head.
The aroma is incredible. Tangy tropical fruits dried apricot, underripe peach, underripe mango, some passionfruit. The fruitiness without too much sweetness. And some biscuity malt and herbal grassy mint in there too. am glad I spent some time smelling this one before tasting. The taste followed the nose, but somewhat less explosive. Really a predominant apricot with a grassy herbal finish. Mouthfeel is typical Grimm single IPA i.e. Creamy but less so than their iipas where they really shine. Overall, a very enjoyable offering from Grimm. Great overall, but did not change my opinion that their iipas are more to my taste than their ipas.

pours a very hazy darker yellow, foamy uneven head. i expect the smell to be pungent hop concentrate but it was light and fruity with a crackery smelling back end. taste was defintely not what I expected from the smell or from the description. it starts out with a big resin kick, followed by warmer peach and apricot flavors, and ends with some grassy herbal notes. the malt didn't stand a chance against the hops on the taste, very dry and bitter. the feel was what you want out of an IPA. another decent offering from Grimm, though I still have not had a beer that lives up to the extreme hype behind these guys.

L: Darker pumpkin, honey, and bruised peach colored hues with a hazy appearance and ample white head
S: Oranges, nectarines, tangerines, and mangoes
T: Tropical fruits, citrus, and a clean bitterness
F: Creamy and smooth medium body
O: Another interesting and well executed IPA from Grimm. Really enjoyed the flavor profile of the Hallertau Blanc and Galaxy hops, which made this a delicious, and differentiated offering from one of the best in the game.

Hazy, and golden yellow in color with a nice thick head. Not very fragrant. Very smooth and drinkable (probably due to the low ABV). Taste is not overly powerful but mild and delicious. I wish I could give this a 4.8 / 4.9 because is just missing some nice aromas. Love this beer.

Poured from a 16oz can into a speiglau IPA glass.

Look is a hazy yellow/ orange with an inch head.

Lots or orange and tangerine in the aroma. Juicy malt sweetness.

Taste is just like pulpy orange juice. Pithy and bitter with a citric sweetness.

Delicious.

Golden and hazy ale under a full white head. Fruity and floral aromas supported on the tongue with both tropical and orchard impressions, along with a more herbal edge to round off the citrus aspects. Light-medium feel with ample carbonation and a creamy smoothness. Clean finishing. Always a shame these are one can limits in my area.

rolled the can as demanded by the can, poured into tulip

L - cool can art, pours opaque orange with a three-finger head that fades slowly (maybe rolling stirred up the carbonation), leaving lots of lacing

S - surprisingly malty for Grimm, with a sort of nectarine-jam fruitiness, little to no pine/funk/dank

T - nicely balanced between sweet and bitter, leading with stone fruit and orange juice, a clean bitterness in the middle, with a grassy galaxy aftertaste -- not as malty as the nose suggests

F - medium thickness, medium minus carbonation, smooth

O - another nice IPA from Grimm
