i have had several of these pop beers now from these guys, and i think i like the fruity ones more than the hoppy ones. like, this is a weird expression of galaxy, and the sweetness of the milk sugar and the vanilla take away from the fresh herbal character i usually look for in the varietal, and as much as this tastes good, its a weird mix of flavors and sensations with the sourness, and it seems like more of a novelty than a drinker. its pale and creamy headed, softly hazy, very fizzy, and with a super interesting aroma. a lot of vanilla here, not subtle at all on that, and some earthy dry almost raw wheat, i like that i can get some grain right away. the hops hint at candied lime, lemongrass, and honeydew melon, with green grape character as well, juicy and mouthwatering with the piquant lactic souring right there alongside it. if this were just a berliner with galaxy, i think i would like it better, but its almost like a cream soda more than a beer at its base, and the sweetness is weird with the hops. no bitterness here at all predictably, but the hops dont feel like their full selves even aside from that, overbalanced by the milk sugar, i definitely get a melted ice cream element, but like the cheap vanilla from mcdonalds or something, sweet and not quite natural on the vanilla side, weird, good, but weird. this is definitely a different side of galaxy hops, and its as well done as something like this could be. fun to drink, but i wouldnt want much more than a pint can. always fun to drink beers from grimm, this is a guilty pleasure sort of thing because i like the taste but i hate the new school everything needs lactose and dry hopping inspiration...

22oz bomber poured into a tulip glass. pours a milky, hazy gold with thick, powdery sediment chunks at the bottom of the glass. this beer looks quite stunning. smells of dank hops with a little smack of sweetness and acidity. tastes is hoppy, somewhat tropical with a tart, sweet finish. feel is decent for the style. bubbly, thinner, doesn’t last long on the tongue. overall, pretty decent. quite rich for such a little beer but it’s still refreshing.

Straw yellow and lightly hazy in appearance. Light Brussels lacing. There's a three quarter inch creamy dense dishwater white head. The aroma is of lactose and vanilla. I'm tasting a lot of very sweet lactose and vanilla. This tastes like a dessert beer. The mouth is very smooth and creamy.

Taste like candy. Smell is light featuring vanilla and sour tones. Taste has hints of tropical fruits and then buried under a tsunami of vanilla and sugar. A diabetic nightmare, but very smooth and light, like juice form a juice box. Very tasty

Bottle. Pours hazy and pale. Froth and spittle head. Galaxy hoppiness stands out. Bretty funk on the nose. Sweetness wavering. Flavor is very interesting. Milk sugar adds a really interesting element. Lactose flavor is such a unique addition. FInishes sweet and milky after an initial shot of tartness and hoppiness. The finish (or should I say the flavor transition to the finish) is really the high point. Pretty neat.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 12/2017. Pours very hazy pale golden/straw color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a small cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Mild lactic tartness and zesty/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, citrus peel/zest, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying/puckering flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering tartness. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/grainy, and lightly acidic/sticky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is an outstanding dessert style Berliner weisse! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, citrus/tropical hops, vanilla, lactose, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink, with the mildly acidic/drying finish. Tastes like tropical fruit ice cream in a way. Awesome balance of fruity Lacto, juicy hops, vanilla, lactose, and malts. Not overly sweet or lactic either way. A highly enjoyable offering, unique, and spot on style example as expected.

Poured from 1pt. 6oz bottle into 20oz tulip glass. Bottled in December of 2017.

Look: Hazy translucent yellow in color. Small 1/4 inch head on the pour, but dissipated quickly. Light amount of lacing on glass.

Smell: So many scents detected on the nose, which all come at you at once. Pineapple, grapefruit, passionfruit, guava, orange with sweet hints of lactose. Not getting much vanilla.

Taste: As with the smell, all kinds of stuff happening. Upfront with pineapple, grapefruit, passionfruit, guava, orange, tangerine, and apple. Finish is really desirable, with a lime/sweet lactose finish. Yeast taste is subtle. Taste is intriguing in that it is sweet, slightly sour and creamy. Has a pulpy taste to it as well. Damn fine taste. Sweetness really prominent as you finish the beverage. Vanilla also very subtle, but more noticeable as you finish the drink.

Feel: Light body, with smooth creamy feel. Not too heavy on tongue, but sweetness provides a coating over tongue. Low carbonation.

Overall: I am pretty blown away. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I am very pleased. It encompasses a nice feel, with a creamy/sweet/slightly tart fruity taste. Lactose and vanilla are subtle and add to sweetness of the beer, which balances with the tart fruit. Well done Grimm, this is a damn tasty beer. Cheers!

This one is kind of like Raul’s first sexual experience: confusing. Instead of that always welcomed tartness that belongs in a Berliner, it is very mild and dry. Like a penguin on ice skates, this one is all over the place. There is a baby tartness, but I’m guessing it’s that milk sugar that kind of throws a wrench into things.

This one is not Raul recommended.

I'm giving this a 4.75 all around because it is as near perfect a beer I have tasted.

Every category I want to say, "near perfect" so 4.75 just seems fitting.

Look: a beautiful hazy yellow

Smell: tart passionfruit and pineapple

Taste: Slightly sweet, slightly sour, slightly creamy. Pineapple, Citrus and Passionfruit Notes.

Feel: So pleasant. Light. Easy to drink. Refreshing carbonation.

Overall: An incredible sour and an incredible brew. Top notch.

A: Poured into a tulip to a pale and cloudy straw yellow beer topped by a dnese two finger white head which retains well and leaves decent lacing.
S: Smells of delicious dry hopped sour ale with some slight funk and vanilla.
T: Taste is sour and slightly funky up front with some vanilla and lactose body coming in. Nice lemony tartness combined with some slightly citrusy hops. Swallow is more vanilla and light sourness with a little more funk. The sweetness and vanilla build as the beer warms.
M: This beer has a body that is on the lighter side of medium with slightly prickly carbonation. The acidity lends this one a dry finish although the added sugars to try to keep it refreshing.
O: Overall this is a really tasty beer. Nice flavors and decent complexity on this one make it an interesting and easy drinking beer. Sour but not too intense so very approachable. I can see why they called this one a dessert sour.

Poured into a standard pint glass in a nondescript bar in the lower east east side.
Super hazy incan gold with a one finger head. Lacing is already apparent after a few sips. The nose reeks of sweet citrus.. Mild grapefruit and lime. If I had to pin down the flavor, I would call it a bitter citrus marshmallow. There's some sweetness to the aroma and taste but it's far from overpowering. Mouthfeel is creamy and the carbonation is perfect for a night of imbibing.

A: The beer is quite hazy pale light yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving thick lacing around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of limes, passionfruit, and vanilla are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has a bit more in the way of vanilla and hints of sweetness from the milk sugar, negating any sourness from the citrus. The vanilla gets a little stronger as the beer warms up.
M: It feels light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. A slight amount of tartness is perceptible.
O: This is a pleasant dessert beer and is well balanced between flavors of citrus/passionfruit and vanilla with a light touch of sweetness. It is very easy to drink.

Bomber poured into a teku glass

Hazy straw in color, one finger white foam cap, quickly settles to a white ring, very good lacings

Aroma of citrus, pineapple

Taste...interesting! Citrus hop, Berliner sour tartness then creamy sweet, vanilla lingers

Medium sudsing, sour then creamy, really interesting beer

Good beer, like it, not the usual suspect
