L: Pours a hazy lemon juice yellow with a very small fizzy white head and no lacing on the glass.
S: Lemony and pineapple, a vanilla and milky sweetness, notes of tartness, a crackery malt underneath, smells like a not of brett.
T: Tart lemon and pineapple, with a slight milky sweetness, notes of vanilla interweave with a light crackery malt, the sweet and tart seem to be fighting each other a bit.
F: Light body, prickly carbonation
O: This is an interesting Berliner weisse, but I prefer mine to be a little more traditional.

This is one of my favorite styles and Grimm has created a great version here.
Look: The color of this beer is almost perfect. It has the light golden look of honey or lightly toasted bread, but it's translucent and cloudy. The head puffs, Bloom's, but then fades with very little stickiness.
Smell: The smell is astringent and reminds me of a maltier white wine smell. Floral, a hint of sweet grass, and very mild honey.
Taste: Only slightly sour in taste, it's quite refreshing in late July. Unripe raspberry, very slight hints of dill pickle juice, and a vegetal end note dominate the taste. If there are good in the mix, they may be there in that hint of a vegetable finish.
Feel: Mouth feel is prickly and carbonated, but upon examination, it's hollowed out and becomes much "wetter" and softer by the middle. This makes for a nice wash that begins with carbonation and fades into refreshment.
Overall: A great beer in a style I love.

The vanilla and sugar really.... pop in this beer. Couldn't resist. The guava, passion fruit, key lime, and melon lead the fruits, with orange, pear, and green apple supporting. Little hops peak out once in awhile. Sour note combines with sweetness to give sludgy finish that is quite nice. Carbonation helps break this up so as not to get too heavy. Certainly a bright dessert beer, but lots going for it.

Just cause I had a 'certain feeling' about this beer, I decided to go against the norm for pouring a true Berliner weisse into a stange or pokal, thus pouring into a tulip.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt yellow color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head. It slid off fairly light and quick to leave some spotty lace.
The aroma had a 'cool' refreshing lemon juicy pulled pulpiness. Light notes of green apple, peach skin, 'Brett-ed' passion fruit and a touch of lemongrass. Ample amount of vanilla hit the sides adequately.
The flavor slightly leans into the sweet side of the vanilla overtaking alot of the sour and tart notes of passionfruit, peach skin and green apple. Aftertaste of vanilla, green apple, lemon juice and peach.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Sour harshness is a bit faded here, not a whole lot of strength. Carbonation felt a bit lower than expected. ABV seemed to be the norm. Nice smooth finish with the vanilla creamy sweet thing going on.
Overall, as much as I liked this for me, there's nothing actually 'Berliner weisse' about it. Still, I'd give this another go.

Straw yellow in color with no head. The aroma is of lactobacillius and grassy hops. I'm tasting lactobacillius, passion fruit, apricot, and a pinch of green apple. The mouth is dry, highly carbonated, and refreshing.

i have not generally been a fan of the dessert sours, especially the berliner types, but grimm is doing them better than anyone, and its hard not to be a fan of this delicious and unique beer. its also the very first bottle of grimm i have seen for sale in colorado, which is hopefully a sign of things to come! its a nice showcase of amarillo hops in a bit of a different context. here its crystalline fruitiness compliments the strong vanilla and creaminess, almost giving this a tropical ice cream smoothie vibe, its not overly sweet because there is still some hop bitterness here, needed i think, but the milk sugar adds a lot, it brings body, creaminess of feel, and a residual sweetness that stretches this right out. i love the vanilla with the wheat, its a natural fusion that gives this like a frosted pastry vibe, its sweet sure, but the sourness is just enough to offset it and keep it drinkable. the hops and the vanilla are unexpectedly good together too, like when a cat and a dog become best friends. i thought his was excellent overall, one of the better pop series beers i have had from them really. i hope to see more bottles pop up in colorado, pun intended!

excellent looking hazed golden straw color with a dense and fluffy white head that quickly recedes to a ring of suds. aromas are sort of subdued for me, some mellow funky and tart citric character. however the palate explodes with tart citrus and fruit notes of lychee, kiwi, lemon, apple, and seedy underripe berries. there is a mellow funkyness to it and i think the amarillo adds a beautiful grassy and green herbaceous tone. there is a subtle but pleasant sweet/creamy thing going on a well.
