22 ounce bottle in a tulip glass, as suggested. 4/18 bottle date.

Cranberry juice colored liquid with a 1F white cap that drops in a flash. No film and minimal spot lacing.

Vinegar on the nose, salt on the palate. Shared qualities are: raspberry and tart sour apple, yeast, general fruitiness.

Feel is rather unpleasant. It lacks body and the raspberry is overpowering.

The raspberry / sour / gose combo isn't adding up for me here.

I was surprised to find this beer on tap in Florida. I was even more surprised when I took the first sip of this excellent gose. I was instantly hit with mostly sour and a little sweet raspberry flavor. Very natural tasting and a nicely (not over) carbonated, refreshing feel. Very balanced and very impressive.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 4/2018. Pours opaquely hazy deep ruby red/pink/purple color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy light pink head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, green apple, red grape, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, citrusy hops, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, green apple, red grape, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin/seeds, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, peach, pear, melon, green apple, red grape, sea salt, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, bread, light pepper/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, citrusy hops, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from tartness and tangy fruit. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/grainy/acidic/tangy, fairly crisp, and lightly saline balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.7%. Overall this is a fantastic fruited gose! All around outstanding complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic yeast, raspberries, citrusy hops, sea salt, and moderate pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the modestly acidic/tangy/drying finish. Never overly lactic or salty. Amazing balance of jammy berries, vibrant hops, and Lacto complexity; with a nice pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. A highly enjoyable offering, and spot on style example as expected. All of their sours are consistently impressive.

great looking brew, deep and vibrant pinkish-violet color. aromas and palate are slightly tart seedy raspberries, mixed berry sorbet, very light salinity, crisp tartness reminiscent of a granny smith apple, kiwi, wheat, and a bit of herbaceous quality.

When it comes to the reinvention of classic styles, few breweries have as much assertion and success as Grimm Artisanal Ales. And they are crushing it with their "Crush" series of gose, German-styled sour wheated ale that isn't shy about its copious raspberry additions.

Super Crush comes with a rich mauve, matte finish that rounds with a creamy sepia stained cap. Equally as rich aromas of raspberries leap out with nearly jam-like aromas. Tangy and lightly spicy on the nose, its scent is part lemonade, herb and cream. Continuing that rich theme, the raspberry flavors roll onto a pastry wheaten foundation for a malty sweet upstart that splashes the tongue like liquid cobbler and poundcake.

As the raspberries stew on the middle palate, it continues to dominate the taste while the sweetness and heavy creaminess of malt begins to retract. Fruit nuances of green apple, lime, lemon, white grape, gooseberry and kiwi give the sweet berries a tart offset while a mild herbal complements trends more mint-like, herbal and faintly grassy than necessarily hoppy on the late palate.

A hint of sassafras and lemon pepper decorate the finish while the intensity of raspberry seems as much of sangria than of sour ale. But the beer's berry, citrusy and tropical tartness turns sour and drying in finish to further highlight that botanical bitterness and a piquant, short vinous aftertaste.
