Hyperfocus Simcoe, the next in our single hop series, overflows with rich notes of abundant ripe mango, passionfruit, peach, and purple grape jolly ranchers. In our opinion, this hand-selected lot of Simcoe has so much complexity that it doesn’t require any other hops in the blend.

On tap at Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a very hazy and shiny orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This one smells like crisp and clean pine, grassy hops, orange rind, mango, and marijuana.

Simcoe will always be one of my favorite hops. Grimm uses it very well here, imparting a killer spicy and bitter hoppiness (not too much) with a clean and juicy mango/orange/pineapple thang up front.

The bitterness on the back end helps the drinkability for sure, keeping it super crisp, and very clean.

Grimm definitely took a turn for a little bit. Now that they have their own brewery, there's so much evidence that they are back and better than ever.

Had this beer in Johnson City on draft at Food and Fire and I would rate in 4 out of 5 overall. Not sure if it was an old keg or the lines were dirty but it was just OK however out of a can definitely a lot better 4.25 out of 5. More hazy, juicy, and creamy out of the can which is unusual because, it’s usually better on draft.

Grimm continues to kill it at their new brewery. Exploding with juicy, fruity, catty, stemmy aromas and flavors. If you can get your hands on it, it's very rewarding.

Canned 5/20. Medium hazy orange, slightly below average head that fades quickly leaving sparse lacing but a nice layer of suds on the surface. Smell is mostly tropical fruits but there is a little floral sharpness that is a nice accent and a malty finish. Taste is similar as it has a smooth tropical fruit presence with a grassy/herbal hop bite. On the fuller side in terms of the body, crisp carbonation and a smooth finish with a little grassy aftertaste.
