At Grimm we are fascinated by the process of alchemical transformation through the magic and mystery of fermentation. Our aim is for our fermentations to reveal, develop, and transfigure the flavors of our carefully selected raw materials. So we were thrilled to be asked by Yakima Chief Hops to participate in a trial of their new experimental cryo hop blend, tentatively named Bio-T. The hottest area of hop science at the moment is bio-transformation — the study of how compounds in hops can be transformed and liberated by interacting with yeast. Bio-T is a cryo blend created to max out certain compounds known to be active in biotransformation — such as linalool (fruit loops, gummy bear), geraniol (floral rose, precursor of linalool)

This one pours a fairly hazy golden orange, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like gummy bears, hop candy, grapefruit, and orange.
Grimm always uses that gummy bear thing to describe their beers, and it actually kind of works here. It's got a candy sweetness, and it works, with some melon/grapefruit/mango/etc, and some floral hops.
This is light bodied, crisp and clean, with a pretty solid drinkability.
This is definitely a touch old school, but I appreciate it for that.
