Pours a classic looking and clear golden amber color. A moderate head retains well.
Aromas showcase, floral, fruity and dank herbal hops. Classic citrusy notes of grapefruit, orange and lime, as well as stone fruit. Pungent aromas of grass and pine resin.
The taste opens with a sweet malt backbone, featuring notes of caramel, honey and semi creamy malts with a drying edge. This soon gives way to the hops flavors that come to dominate, including flavors of grapefruit rind, candied oranges, lemon, lime, and peach. Spicy herbal notes of sharp pine resin, grass and floral hops, along with a firm West Coast bitterness. The finish is crisp, resiny and dry.
Medium body with a mouthfeel that somehow manages to be both smooth and crisp. The carbonation is moderate to lively.
One of my favorite IPAs in recent memory. A truly well crafted and delicious West Coast IPA. Excellent use of the Amarillo hops.
