i wish i could drink grimm beer all the time. thanks to my brother for procuring this four pack for us to imbibe during out visit. this is great stuff, feels and drinks a little heavier than its alcohol content would suggest, but thats the style and thats how these guys often roll with their hoppy stuff, no complaints, but this is darn near the hop saturation point, closer to ipa than pale ale by most measures. its pretty thick in the glass, dense but without visible sediment and with most of an inch of white head on it from the can, puffy and relaxing slowly. it straight up smells and tastes like orange candy, not candied orange, but like actual orange candies, tic tacs to me, maybe lifesavers, but something like that, concentrated and intense in the middle of it, some fresh mandarin too, lemongrass, and melon notes, seems like mostly southern hemisphere hops in this, but in a pretty intense dosage, curiously not at all bitter, but somehow still sort of lingering long after each sip. its herbal too, even slightly spicy late in the absence of the bitterness. lively carbonation but still some grain heft to this, and it drinks a little slow for a pale, some residual yeast character here too. overall a real assertive beer, intense use of somewhat delicate hops generally speaking it seems, love the bright orange vibe it has, but overall it could be tweaked to be more drinkable and clean. still, always a pleasure to drink grimm, especially with my brother, and even being critical of this at all makes me feel lucky to be able to drink quality hoppy beer as frequently as i am able, this is better than many.
