Sharing its name with a Tangerine Dream album, UNDERWATER SUNLIGHT features Nectaron hops flexing peach nectar and diesel-like hoppy intensity. Supporting hops Cashmere, Citra, and Columbus are a ray of tropical sunlight, with a dappling of candied lemon peel. Underwater Sunlight pours a lovely pale gold and transports us to warmer days.

Look:
Pours a hazy golden orange color with a thin, quarter finger head of satin white foam. Laces the glass beautifully, near perfectly and thoroughly in a solid wall of web all the way down the entire length of the glass as you drink.

Aroma:
Nose is mostly papaya and peaches with a marijuana-like, dank and skunky undertone. Some hints of granola, sugar cookies and raw honeycomb.

Taste:
There's a lot going on here; it's sort of hard for me to nail down and describe. The first thing I notice is a soft, warming and soothing alcoholic sensation that lingers throughout the entire tasting experience. Upfront, the flavor is mostly tropical, with juicy and bright flavors of passionfruit and peaches and cream - intermingled with zesty, bright notes of lemon oil, which are underscored by flavors of papaya, pineapple and mango lassi. Gentle orange zest and pine needle bitterness is apparent - but not necessarily in your face or predominant, pairing well with the alcoholic heat to round out the beers sweetness. As it lingers on the tongue; pillowy flavors of very gently toasted, golden brown whole wheat bread and sugar cookies fade into the finish.

Feel:
Medium bodied, low carbonation. Honestly spot on for the style, neither too light nor too heavy. This is an any time type of IPA, not that it's necessarily "sessionable" - at 7%abv I don't think you could go all day drinking these unless you really had some food in your system and paced yourself, but the mouthfeel is exactly what you need it to be - light enough to quench the thirst but rich enough so as to satisfy.

Overall:
My first experience with "Nectaron" hops; a variety from New Zealand and cousin/descendant of the Waimea variety from what I understand. I'm a big fan to say the least.

Reviewing my last can in the four pack. I didn't really like this when I had my first few, but honestly, sipping on this over the course of a sunday afternoon chilling with the boys on discord playing videogames, it really grew on me. Grimm never disappoints me. Another winner for sure and definitely worth checking out if you like dank, fruity NEIPAS.

From a can dated 03/28/2023. From the Grimm website: “Hopped with Nectaron, Cashmere, Citra and Columbus, it pours a lovely pale gold and serves big tropicality, with a dappling of candied lemon peel and Nectaron’s characteristic peach. Exceptionally clean from start to finish.” Delicious and refreshing.

This is a 16 oz can. From the bottom of the can: "CANNED ON 03/ 28/ 2023 08:34:58"

Appearance: It is a light gold color that is mostly opaque. There is a short white head that fades out to merely nothing but a film. It has some really nice but somewhat sparse lacing which is a bit cobweb-like.

Aroma: It has a somewhat strong aroma of garlic and mangos. There's not much else, although what is present is strong and nice.

Taste: Some hop bine oil flavor comes through. It is a very clean tasting beer although it is very simple. It has this rosemary and garlic aftertaste. It is largely herbal.

Mouthfeel: It feels light and easy to drink. Bitterness is very low. The label on the can states that this is "7% ALC/VOL" and it never shows. It feels as light and easy as a feather.

Overall: This is one of those weird beers that feels greater than the sum of its parts. There isn't a ton going on with this beer when it comes to flavor, aroma, or appearance. All things considered you end up with something that is extremely enjoyable that is very drinkable but also has enough flavor and aroma to taste and smell very good. I would buy it again. I would also recommend it.
