16oz can from Tavour. Clear, dark amber pour, sturdy, thick, fluffy off-white head. Light smoky aroma, caramel. Stronger smoke in the taste, ashy, campfire, malty. Light sweetness and mildly dry.

Nice smoky taste hits immediately. Sits on a nice medium flavored lager. Definitely skews Vienna/Red lager with a darker more caramelized clear goldish red color. Nice light beige head. It's got the grains and the smoke and a fair bit of malt. Nice complexity, both hearty and refreshing.

Very solid malty lager. I wish the smokiness was stronger compared to the hoppy bitterness.

A rare brewery visit, or rather pizzeria at the brewery — Lala's at Grimm Artisanal Ales.

This is a smoked red Rauchbier lager — an ambitious version of a rare beer.

The appearance of gorgeous brown-red beer with a nice head.

The nose is Vienna-lager-like malt with just a faintly recognizable smoke.

Taste follows the nose — malt, bread, no trace of smoke.

Overall it is a typical Grimm Lager — clean, clear, and slightly hoppy, based on European originals but unmistakably American.
