Our barleywine aged for two years in two oak casks that previously held Old Fitzgerald bourbon. All of the depth is here with deep flavors of dark, dried fruit, rich caramelly malt, toasted oak, and fine bourbon whiskey.

Matte brown opaque in clarity, sustained tan head. Smell has the barrel made known right away, with the patented OF dark fruit sweetness, with caramel, malts, and a little bit of barley. Taste is out of balance with sickly sweet dark fruit, sugary taffy caramel, boozy bourbon with limited barrel, barley is buried under the shellac of sweetness. Feel is malty and boozy, medium bodied but starts to break down near the end of the sip, more apparent as it warms

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a dark brown with minimal head. Nose is toffee, bourbon, molasses, vanilla, figs, and prunes. The taste is fantastic. Very intense flavors of toffee, maple, raisins, figs, vanilla, bourbon, malts, brown sugar, and a bit of spice. Almost a graham cracker taste to it. I really love this barleywine! Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice toffee aftertaste. A bit boozy, but not too much so. Highly recommended.

Pours a dark brown, cola like color, very little head which disappears entirely, minimal visible carbonation. Cherry vanilla cola on the nose at first, molasses, malt, booze, bourbon, ripe plum, reminds me of smelling a box of raisins. Taste follows the nose in almost every character. Boozy, oak, vanilla, bourbon, raisin, sweet malt, cherry cola. The end is boozy, very full body, slick, very minimal carbonation.

Not one for everyday... but this one is interesting, and very big in every way - nose, taste, abv, body, you name it.
