My first from Next Door which positions itself as the brewery next door and, curiously, we drove by it and was tempted this Saturday past to stop for lunch. (Next Door distributes only in Wisconsin, which is why I had to travel from Chicago to get it.)
It is hard to say that I haven't had this beer before, or one very much like it. Most brewers that have a generic, serviceable APA stay in business; assuming most other things stay in-line, relatively so for a brewery. So, Kaleidoscope keeps Next Door going and it serves its purpose to drinkers by being refreshing; giving just enough bitter tang at the finish line. As for me, this only goes with bar food and I wasn't eating it tonight. So, I opened a saison for dinner.

Pours a slightly orange clear golden yellow.
Citrus and sweet toasted malt, rather muted overall.
Muted citrus flavor and crisp, clean, malt bill.
Light-bodied, high carbonation, crisp, clean.
Overall, a very underwhelming brew, but drinkable.

I got a bottle of this off the single shelf at at a grocery store outside of Milwaukee. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had a bitter citrus hop. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's not too shabby.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Murky amber with not much head to it. Very well balanced APA with just a tinge of citrus hop at the end. This bottle is about one month old and is so much better than one I had that was five months old so check the bottle date on the neck.

Kaleidoscope Pale Ale. 12 oz brown longneck poured into a pint glass.
The beer is a chill hazed copper with a beige head. It has nice lacing.
It has an aroma of biscuits/crackers with some pine notes.
The taste is mildly bitter with pine and some citrus it’s all backed by a pretty solid caramel malt backbone.
The mouth is slightly coating with nice lower carbonation levels.
I think This is a pretty solid apa.
