Pours a deep, dark red, brown'ish coloration with a small, fizzy head. Smell is quite smokey, but also quite fruity, with strong notes of red berries and a hint of citrus. Taste follows the nose, being quite smokey and fruity, with a medium sourness and a light sweetness. Notes of redcurrant, red grapes, orange peel, with a certain, slightly funky, musty, earthy, herbaceous and woody character that is remiscient of rosemary and cedar wood. Finishes with a mixture of very light bitterness, medium sourness and smokiness. I have absolutely zero experience with the Flanders Red Ale style, but I quite like this. It has a certain red wine character with an excellent balance of fruitiness, smokiness, sweetness and sourness.
