So when this beer was placed on the counter in front of me, I thought someone had shaken the keg, or maybe I got the last pour out of the nearly-empty log. Turns out it's supposed to be that way - unfiltered, apparently the way it was once served in Dusseldorf
A- Rusty, reddish-bronze, cloudy and somewhat intimidating appearance. The impressive head peaked over the glass edge, and settled slowly after the first few sips.
S- Spicy German hops, caramelly malt goodness.
T- Smooth, malt-forward beer with just enough noble hop presence to affirm that this is indeed an alt. Bolder taste than some alts that I've tried, I''ve gotta believe the fact that it's unfiltered adds to the mouthfeel, which is satiny-smooth.
O-Not what you'd expect in this style category, but really a pleasant surprise. I wonder if keeping it in the bright tank longer (or adding more finings) might improve its appearance, cause right now it looks a bit like a witches brew. But the aroma and taste more than make up for it, and I will definitely try it again.

Traditional Dusseldorf-style Altbier--meaning unfiltered, Old World German pub-style. Extremely well-balanced and spot-on amber in color.
Mellow and smooth in mouthfeel; fruitiness subdued through proper conditioning.
Presented nicely in a stange. Great beer!
